After many years of doing genealogy and searching for information on our great grand father, and with no success; my sister and I decided to research a cemetery in the area close to our home town, where only a few of the internments had been added to "Find A Grave".

It has been very rewarding to be able to find all sorts of information during our search.

We had such a great time together compiling information, I decided that I want to be involved with "Find A Grave". Maybe I can be instrumental in helping someone else find their long lost relative.

Find A Grave Memorial# 115359600
Thank you for posting this information on my mother. As is often the case, however, some of the information is the obituary is incorrect. I am Bonnie Lynn Bailey, the older of Lynn Arden Bailey and Archie Lawton Bailey's two daughters and did not live in Chamblee, but in Atlanta, Georgia.
Our maternal grandparents were Milton Arden and Della Carlyn Bazemore Arden (she never used Della, but was known as Carlyn). The correct spelling of my mother's surviving sister's name is Maudeane Arden Clifton. Their brother Milton "Joe" Arden Jr. died 23 November 2014.

# 115357280 ARCHIE Lawton Bailey was, indeed, Lynn's husband. He was the youngest of five sons born to William CLAUDE Bailey and May Belle Denny Bailey. The eldest, DENNY Aycock Bailey, is buried with his wife, Clara Thorpe Bailey, in the same Bailey family plot.

# 80480281 VERNON (not Bernon) Claude Bailey, buried in the same plot, was the 2nd son of Claude & May Belle Bailey and died (at age 11) of injuries sustained while living at Bethesda Home for Boys. Corrected birth date: 27 Oct 1913

The 3rd son of May Belle and Claude Bailey, Marion Thomas Bailey (1915-1981), is buried in Greenwich Cemetery adjacent to Bonaventure.

# 122243746 Marguerite Denny (b. 10 Nov 1898 in South Carolina; d. 6 Feb 1963 in Savannah, Chatham, GA), was the younger sister of May Belle Denny Bailey. Their parents were John Milton Denny and Sarah "Sallie" Bagley Aycock, both of whom are buried in Johnston, Edgefield, SC.

Kay Hagan was my father. Is there any connection between our family and you or Ms.Lewis? I do not remember such.
My mother, Gertrude Delph Hagan, memorial #88679723, is buried next to him, so please add her to his memorial as his spouse (his first wife).

JoAnn, Yes, you can transfer to me. I could not find a memorial for my sister, Dolores Beckworth Kromer or her son, David Howard Kromer, who is buried right beside her at Gravel Hill Cemetery. They do not have headstones. They are in the plot for our parents, Shinar and Hettie Beckworth. Next time I go to Savannah, I plan to purchase them headstones. Thanks again.

RE: Gravel Hill Cemetery
thank you so much for this information. I would like to find out how much the church charges to clean up a site. Last time I was there my husband and I brought garden tools with us, etc. and cut weeds, cleaned as much as possible (from Maryland). but I would hate to think what it looks like now. I might try a trip in the Spring. We have family buried in Bonaventure, Forest Lawn and Laurel Grove that I know of. Just wish my Dad had gotten his plots at one of those. If you find out how much the church charges, would you let me know please. Thanks. I think someone told me a long time ago that someone famous (like a signer of the Declaration of Independence) is buried there, or has a marker there. Is that true?
