I live in middle Ga. and enjoy spending time searching for those out of the way gravesites and researching in general. At times I will post information as well as pictures. There are some gravesite locations that I had to "scratch and claw" to find and the clean up was back breaking. And I'm sure like many other folks I've spent many hours walking, searching and taking pics.

James A Ray - Sorry for the dyslexia
Hi M.T. Researcher. I apologize for the incorrect dob on Mr. Ray. You are right, he did pass in 1862. What I meant to enter for his dob was 8/8/1822. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi M.T. Researcher,

I believe the date of birth for James A. Ray was 8/8/1882 in Crawfordville, GA, if you would like to update the find a grave entry.

James A. Ray - Great, Great Grandfather
Thank you for adding James A. Ray to Find A Grave. This year marks my 21st year on a journey to learn more about my biological family. James was my great, great grandfather. Your contribution to my family tree is priceless! Thank you :)

Cemetery Question
I see that you've added memorials for Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. I was wondering if this is the same cemetery as Avondale Baptist Church. Both cemeteries are in Bibb County, GA.

I was looking up ancestors at the following website with grave listings, and many of the graves that I found for Avondale Church you have listed in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. I'm not sure which is correct. Do you have further records for Liberty Hill and/or Avondale Cemetery that might clarify which cemetery these graves are actually in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doles Cemetery Book
Washington Library has a book for this cemetery?

Wonderful! Using it is now on my "to do list".

As it happens I'm there at the moment :)

Helen Gibson's picture
Thank you so much for the lovely photo of Helen Gibson's marker. I know what you mean in your bio about searching for hours looking for graves. My husband and I did that today. Much appreciated. If you ever need anything in my area just let me know. We live the Florida panhandle about 45 minutes from
Pensacola.
Thanks,
Charlotte
