RE: Effie Bowersock
Benjamin F Smith was my grandmothers step father.

His second wife Maria V Pollreis. documented a family history in her White House Cookbook that included Benjamin's marriage to Effie Brooks in Ohio, their divorce and a listing of their four children. The cookbook binding is very fragile and I am unable to bake a copy.

The 1900 and 1910 censuses show Benjamin, Effie and their children living in Ohio. The 1920 census shows Benjamin , his second wife and two of his children with Effie living in Portland, Or. The census data matches the "cookbook data".

As a child I attended several family functions that included Benjamin and Effie's daughters.

Please let me know if you need more information

RE: John C. Smith
Yes you are correct as far as memorial #51398656. I got confused because the stone posted on 51506190, looks like it says John C. Sorry for the confusion. I'm still not sure about 51506190 being Alexander's son. I can't find any record that he had a son named John. I did discover that John C. had a son named John (although my records show a middle initial H for him). Do you have a reason to think that 51506190 is Alexander's son and not John C.'s?

John C. Smith

I have been researching the Smith family line. Wanted to let you know that according to my info, John C. Smith is not Duane L. Smith's brother. John C. was born in Oct 1818 and died Nov 9 1892. He is the brother of Alexander H. Smith. His parents were John Smith (1787-1880) and Charlotte Cottrell Smith (1797-1860).

Siblings for Duane. I have a brother William, Mary Ellen and Alice. I can't find Olive or Addie in my tree at all, so I'm not sure about them.

Duane L. Smith was my Great grandfather.

Sincerely, Pam

I see that you have put Watson sites on Find A Grave. In your jouney through Southside, did you find a headstone for Zachariah Watson. I have been told that he was buried there. Any help would be great. My maternal Grandmother was a Watson. Thank You...Patty

Hi, I am researching my father's side of the family. We are looking for ORRIN Walker, died 1850, married Patsy Stilley 5-30-1830. We do not have a birth date/place/ and are at a stand still. He had a son, Marcus Lafayette Walker married to Sarah Jackson Malcom. The dates of your Orrin do not match but thought perhaps you might have come across something in your research!! Ty in advance.
