We will be grateful for any comments, advice and links to memorials. Thanks to this wonderful website we have found many friends all over the world and the amount of mails we receive increase all the time. We appreciate all the mails and ALWAYS reply but sometimes it takes longer than we would like to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We prefer to get your questions and corrections through the EDIT tab in the memorial. Please include your own e-mail in case we need to write back to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: St. Nicholas Old Believers Russian Orthodox Cemetery in PA Priscilla Dector Stever Dector Mike Gregor and also wife on same stone with link Anna Koval and linked to husband John Thomas and Pauline Lee Rev McDonsky Andrew Marks Julia Marks Thomas Marks Harry abd wife Rita Morosky Harry and Martha Petroff REv Phillips I am not the manager of this one but I am interested if it says his name anywhere other than the Americanized version Mavra Phillips, wife of the priest above Harry Semenoff Louis Seminoff Catherine and Jack Joseph Williams

Thanks for these. I have a few more to put in including the ones where I don't have a name and the only clue I have is a year. That is on my agenda for today--We have been having an ice storm the past 2 days. So far we still have electricity--now because I have said that I am sure I have jinxed the luck.

RE: St. Nicholas Old Believers Russian Orthodox Cemetery in PA
Okay I think I can do that I can copy and paste the page but I don't know if it will come up as a link that you can click on and go to the page. Right now there are only 60 entries for that cemetery and 30 of those I manage. It is not large. If I make a word document I can email it. Those will come up as links that you can click on. Whichever way works best for you. Let me know.

First one: Kuzma Boiaroff and his wife Martha is linked on the page

Also most of the crosses have writing on them What do those words stand for? I don't know that they are the same on each cross. For the most part I took a picture that encompasses the entire stone then a close up.

St. Nicholas Old Believers Russian Orthodox Cemetery in PA
I have put most of the pictures and entries for this cemetery and I would appreciate help with translations of the Russian. This cemetery is one of 4 in the USA that was Old believers Russian Orthodox. There may be more of these churches now in the US after Alaska became a state. I got the information for many of the folks from death certificates, marriage applications and obituaries. I realize the names probably changed from what they were born as. Many indicated they were from Poland but this might be Russian occupied area or the borders changed through the years. Most of these families came to the US around 1890-1900. The area is a coal mining center. To easily find this cemetery go to USA---Pennsylvania---Washington County.---St. Nicholas. I am not sure how the edit works but if you translate I can put it in the bio with a reference to who did the translating.

One person that I did not put in but am interested in is Rev. Cedar Phillips. I took a close up of the writing on the stone. There was an entry on a blog wondering what his name really was. Is Phillips a typical Russian surname? Maybe his real name it is written in Russian? You can email me this or edit through the person who put it in the entry.

I have not put in the stones that have no English name yet but that will be coming and will probably do a numbering system. There are only 3 or 4. I have not finished this cemetery section and there is a newer section across the street. I live some 650 miles from this cemetery but my family is from this area so when I visit family I spend a few days at the cemetery photographing but I just started in this section.

Again thanks for any help.

Apologies, it is of course the other way round, ie #161162176 is a duplicate of #143639185 (earlier number).

Bertie and Montagu Families
Because of the secure setting I've had to add to my PC to keep Find A Grave's advertisements from taking when I'm logged in, I can't open the window under the Edit tab for 'Suggest any other correction or addition'. I hope you don't mind if I send two update requests here on the message portion of your profile page, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Elizabeth Montagu Bertie (#33450969) died on November 30, 1654 at The Strand, Wesminster, and was buried in her family vault in the church at Weekley, Northamptonshire. The Weekley parish register also records the burial of her father Edward Montagu (#33451205), 1st Baron Montagu of Broughton, in the same place. I know there are effigial memorials of them on the Jefferay tomb, but would you mind to move their memorials to the Weekley church where they are actually interred.

Thanks for looking into this. Best wishes for the New Year.
