Born and raised in NW Ohio and worked 27 years in the income tax preparation business for a major income tax firm. Since retirement I have found more time to travel looking up family cemeteries and taking photos. Have been doing genealogy since 1965 and am addicted to it. Have numerous French families and while doing my husband's genealogy have found he has numerous Quaker families. Feel free to correspond about any of my entries and I promise to reply. My other great love is my 3 great grandsons. Contact me now at

Glad you found him! I get to that cemetery once in a while, but I just went. So I will keep your request in mind for the next time. Take care.

Yes, check and see. Perhaps he is in a nearby cemetery and I could try again if you would like to write me here. You might want to call the cemetery/township office to make sure he is located where the obit states.

Hello Kay,

Yes, Riley Morgan is my wife's great great grandfather. I have not yet been able to locate an obituary on him but if I do, I will be sure to both post it and share it with you. Sorry I could not be of more help to you.

Your Kin Hunter,

Thanks for the photo of the marker. While I'm familiar with the cemetery, I'm unable top visit as I once did. Your help is greatly appreciated.

You're welcome Kay. Fairmount Cemetery is much, much larger than what it appears. I took a GPS reading of Minnie's gravesite while I was there but I don't know how close it got. The last GPS mark I took at that cemetery was nearly 40 yds off! If I remember correctly, Minnie's monument was just off the roadway (a little uphill from one of the roads) and not around any other monuments with her surname (so that you know if you ever make it to Fairmont).

Hope all is well with you. If you need anything else down my way, just let me know. Thanks - Jim

I received your note and wish I could help you, but it doesn't look like that's going to be. I've talked to both of the surviving daughters of my grandparents, Eunice and Ella Skiver. My mother, Alice, their second youngest daughter is now 90 years old and hasn't the foggiest idea when or where they were married. She didn't even know her father was born in Ohio. My aunt, Shirley, is the youngest daughter and is now 88 years old. Unfortunately, she never knew the information you are seeking either. Neither one of them know how they met or when or why they moved to Michigan.

By looking at dates of birth, I found that my Grandmother, Ella, was 20 years old when she gave birth to her first child, Dorothy, in 1908. That indicates that my grandparents were probably married sometime between 1905 and 1907. I don't know whether my grandparents met in Michigan or in Ohio or Indiana where each of them were born. I'm afraid that's all the help I can offer. I am curious as to how the Fisk family is related to my grandparents, though. I would appreciate any information you have. Thank you, Ron Breese

Would you like me to transfer Hattie to you?
Quinshan is a little cemetery close to my home, I have no relations buried within.
