A proud Canadian, I now live in the beautiful Province of British Columbia :D Locations of interest near my former home in Ontario include all of Simcoe County (which is about an hour north of Toronto), plus Ancaster (west Hamilton) and the (former) County of Wentworth, which are due west of Toronto.

Copyright courtesy requested! If you wish to use a photo that I have uploaded to a memorial here on Find-a-Grave, and post it to another website 'as yours', KINDLY ASK ME FIRST. In general, I don't mind if anyone uses my photos for their personal records, and I would hope my name would be included for the source file. But please, if you're going to post them to a FEE-BASED/SUBSCRIPTION website (including Ancestry, which as we all know ultimately profits from _everything_ contributed to their site), it would be nice if credit to the photographer (me) could be given within the posting. I don't know if other sites make this possible, but something such as: "Photograph taken by OhSunnyOne, Ancaster, Ont" would be appreciated.
Thank you for this consideration.

RE: Miss Emily Hinds Seale, my Great-Aunt
Hi Beth,

Thanks for your note. I have no familial connection to your great-aunt (as far as I know), but since I live relatively close to St. James' Cemetery, and am active on here and wikitree with respect to genealogy, I thought I'd inquire to the cemetery for the outstanding sites on Find A Grave, and photograph them all when I have time in the next month or so. Your great-aunt was one of the 30+ people I inquired after in order to provide information on her, since there was an outstanding request on this website.

As mentioned in my original notes for your great-aunt, I received an email to my initial inquiry to St. James' Cemetery from William Britnell, the cemetery's genealogist. He provided the information exactly as typed into my response to your request for a photograph.

I have no vested interest in your family's genealogy or knowledge of oral family traditions, so I am doubtful this is a typo, as Mr. Britnell typed the date '1955' four times into his response (i.e., ‘died Toronto 14 May 1955’; ‘cremated 16 May 1955’; ‘ashes scattered 24 May 1955’; ‘no one alive today knows where ashes would have been scattered back in 1955’).

Hope this helps!

Was out at St. John's Anglican church today, the weather was in the high 20, sun was really bright
Managed to find the Templer Monument, but it was almost impossible to photo the writing on the two sides. Water did not work I have down loaded what I have but if you want to request another set from someone else I will not be offended.

Memorial# 49932142 looks a lot like Memorial# 157871504

You know, I'm not convinced that it matters a lot that there is duplication, but anyway.....

Transfer of James & Mary Gage

I would appreciate having James Gage (96465674) and his spouse Mary Jane Davis Gage (96465564) transferred to me as I descend through their first son, Asahel Gage which makes them my ggggrandparents. Please email me with any questions.

Thank you.

Elizabeth Downes Franklin
Hello! I see that you are related to Elizabeth Downes, wife of colonial NJ's last royal governor, William Franklin, son of Ben. I am a trustee of the Proprietary House museum, located in what was once the Royal Governor's Mansion in Perth Amboy, NJ. Elizabeth lived in the mansion from Oct 1774 until June 1777, just one month before she died after evacuating to NYC. I have been researching Elizabeth's biography and elsewhere found that Elizabeth's father had died when she was a young child and that her mother had also died before Elizabeth moved to London to live with her sister Hannah Downes Alleyne. In your "Find a Grave" info you indicate that both her parents lived into the 1770s. I am wondering where you found that information? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Mary Woodley
Hello again: since I posted my message I have had a go at finding the real identity of Robert Harbin Alleyne's wife Mary. On checking the original marriage record, her maiden name is definitely Woodley, so I believe that she is actually the sister of Eliza Woodley, born in Ireland in 1816, who married John Isaac Dallas in 1837. John Isaac & Eliza are the parents of Mary Woodley Dallas, so Mary Alleyne would be her aunt.
John Isaac was also one of the witnesses to the marriage of Mary Woodley and Robert Harbin Alleyne.
