Nearly all of the memorials I have entered and flowers left are somehow related to our family, if you happen to be related would love to hear from you.|
I am currently working on trying to locate the final resting place of all the men who were part of the First Special Service Force, aka Devil's Brigade or Black Devils. In July 2013, the Congressional Gold Medal was awarded, collectively, to the First Special Service Force, in recognition of its superior service during World War II. Presentation of the Congressional Gold Medal will take place February 3rd 2015 in Washington D.C.
Most memorials I have created in CT cemeteries are not family and happy to transfer to family.

I'm in search of long lost family I never knew existed. I know my grandfather Arthur had 7 or 8 brothers and sisters. I'm sure there is a ton family I know nothing about.

Hi, This lady was my great-aunt Belle who lived one mile from our farm. She would walk to our place every week from spring until fall, spend the afternoon with our family, have some supper and then someone would usually drive her home. What is your connection to this family?

You are most welcome! I'm happy to have been of assistance. Yes, use that picture for your World War II Project.

Please forgive my tardy reply. I am not related to the Welch family.

That would be great! I have been looking into that side of my family for a while (months). I came across newspapers that made me feel like the rug pulled out from what I believed...my whole life! I guess that is how many searches start, by accident.
I'd like to know any more you can share.

I was looking for the lake named for him, and for the first time ever, saw a picture of him!!! He is my grandmother's youngest brother, and she was extremely proud of him. Her last memory of him was him leaving home to go to war. He walked to the end of the sidewalk, spun around to face her, and snapped a salute to her. Bitter sweet memories.
Thank you so much for posting his picture!

We are currently working to identify anyone buried in Westlawn-Hillcrest Cemetery Omaha NE that has served in the military. If you have a loved one buried there or know of someone, please send us a message. We place flags on the graves for Memorial Day. This project is sponsored by Centennial Masonic Lodge #326.
If you can send us the names, we will be sure to include them on our list to get a flag.
Thank you for the help with this ongoing project.
If you have already received this message, please accept our apologies for the duplicate message.
