Bio and Links
Bio Photo If you contact me, please take a moment to say hello, good morning, or hey how are ya. On occasion I get "suggest a correction" notices that are brief, abrupt, and unfriendly in tone and seem more like robot communication than actual human beings. It's a personal pet peeve and I don't react well to those sorts of messages. A little simple human courtesy goes a long way with me.

I research my family history in southwestern and south central Pennsylvania for the most part, although I live in northeastern New Jersey. Counties of interest include Bedford, Blair, Franklin, Fulton, Somerset, Westmoreland, Cambria, Fayette, Washington, Indiana, and others.

PLEASE: If you request an interaction with me, whether to discuss a memorial or request a transfer, please do not be "Anonymous" and not provide any means to contact you. I recently had someone request a transfer but when I tried to contact the person, was told that the submitter was anonymous and there was no way to leave a public message for him or her. I'm not comfortable with this method of communicating. Thanks.

PLEASE: If you write to me via "Suggest a Correction" PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE provide me with evidence in the form of some kind of documentation for any edits you'd like me to make. This is especially true if I don't already know who you are. It's not possible for me to simply accept what someone out of the blue tells me is valid without sources, documentation, proof or some other compelling argument. Sorry to sound like a grouch, but that's just the way my work goes.

Thank you so much for the service you provide for those of us too far away to conduct the search ourselves.

My name is Mary Lou (Bennett) Smith & I'm in the process of applying for DAR approval.

As you probably know, they do not recognize Find-A-Grave information & I've been unable to document Susan Bennett's death.

Her tombstone from 1893 has deteriorated behind reading....again thanks to the provided photo.

Even though the stone is illegible, is there a source you could recommend where I can confirm the death of Susan Bennett Taylor?

A letter sent to the cemetery was returned for lack of a sufficient address.

I'd so sincerely appreciate any contact you may suggest.

Hi Michael,
Thanx for removing the newspaper copy of the obituary of Elizabeth (Kurtz) Snoberger. I take the time to type these obituaries because it just look a lot neater than pasting a newspaper copy and why post both, it just clutters up the memorial. Sorry about requesting the removal of the obituary of David Andrew Kurtz, I got him mixed up with someone else. Thanx again, Mel

Could you please do me a small favor a consider removing a one or two of the census records on David's memorial? I want to add another photo of his headstone.

Thanks and hope all is well!

RE: Chess
Hi Michael, You're very welcome for the photos of the Chess stones! I don't know if you remember or not, but we worked on the Roberts family tree together many years ago. Good to see you on find-a-grave.

RE: Frank A. Langham
Accept or not as you will. I provide information generally from first hand sources from the 18th and early 19th century. I have worked on many (at least 20 families in past 2 days) families since then and it's not important enough to me to seek out the source(s) again. Thanks for understanding.
