If you write PLEASE indentify yourself with findagrave. We usually DELETE anything from people that we don't know.
We will gladly add or delete anything that you desire. Our memorials are meant to HONOR the person who passed away, and to leave a record of that person's life, so that those who follow can access the information.
We encourage you to use the "virtual cemetery". You do not need to OWN a memorial to use it.
We transfer according to the findagrave guidelines, but please ask. There are exceptions.
THANK YOU to all the good people who work so hard to make this an exciting and usable site.

RE: Arthurlee Williams
thanks for the clarification...I shall use what I can from now on when I receive what you send and I shall use that principle for future sac's from other members

Thanks for opening my mind a bit more...I'm really not stuck on a set of rules and I don't mind bending them on occasion.

February weather can bite me! Come on thaw!

New Mount Pleasant
The New Mount Pleasant Cemetery is not associated with the Baptist Church which is an all white church. It is not adjacent to the church but is in fact across the road east of the church.

Hi there

I'd be glad to add an obituary written in ones own words, as I have said before. Listing no names of the living.

I can add the vitals but next time those belong on the new edit system please.

Its my method and other members have theirs

I really do not want to have a negative relationship with you. We are all a part of the same membership striving for more info instead of less but I cannot/will not intentionally add names of the living.

The only "word for word" obit that I will add has credits due and I will not post photos taken from newspapers online. If the new one on the memorial is one from a online newspaper, please remove it...
I can't stop you from doing whatever on your memorials or anyone elses...(I probably should just ignore that rule which I do sometimes when it is a losing battle :) ) ah so forget that...keep the photo

I will stand with the bio though. With credit I will post without names of the living unless of course it is a obit from 50-100 years ago.

Keep warm over there

RE: Sweetie Etheridge
Based on the record you added, you apparently must have added the record from an obituary since the date of death and the date of the record are the same. Notice, there is no tombstone picture added. This cemetery is about 15 miles or so from Troy and is in the middle of nowhere.

RE: Sweetie Etheridge
There is no record for New Mount Pleasant on Find A Grave. It is a Black/African American Cemetery located to the right of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. It is a very large cemetery while Mount Pleasant is a relatively small cemetery.

RE: Oaster

Please be aware if there is already a memorial placed in the cemetery the B.U. never has priority. I feel we spend so much time photographing and locating the correct placement, as do many others that our work should be respected. Perhaps you were not aware but the rule is if the cemetery has not been found from a B.U., it should be deleted after 30 days. How do I add a memorial when I'm not sure what cemetery they are buried?
From F.A.G. rules: Recent Death, location of body unknown option. Location of body unknown is used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition must be determined and updated within 30 days.

Connection to Theron
Lydia Wideman-Dettweiler's mother, Barbara Erb Eby 1828-1918, wife of Henry Lichty Wideman, is my 1st cousin 5x's removed. Her father Peter Wenger Eby is my 4th great grand uncle. Peter's father, George Sensenig Eby is my 5th great grandfather.

Susanna Dettweiler-Smith and Lovina Dettweiler-Vader, are my 3rd cousin's 3x's removed. As of now until I get more info entered.

I did a quick enter to get to your husband. I would be his 5th cousin 1x's removed :)

Theron's 2nd great grandmother, Matilda Snyder more than likely is closely related to me on the Snyder/Schneider side but am having a hard time finding her father. Her mother, Esther Zimmerman Wenger-Snyder is my 4th great grand aunt. Esther's father, Joseph Sherk Wenger 1769-1825, is my 5th great grandfather :)

I will see if I can get some info from my cousin who is a genealogist and has wrote some books on our Mennonite family. Will let you know if I find anything on Matilda's father :)

Take care,

RE: Detweiller & Vader
Hello again :)

I went back thru your Dettweiler side. On my tree on Ancestry, I have the family back as far as Melchior b. 2 Apr 1699 in Wittwyl, Canton Aargau, Switzerland. Melchior is buried in the Northkill Amish Burial Grounds, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Follow the Dettweilers back as you will see Melchior has a memorial #50672659 along with a long bio that's quite interesting. Here is my line:

Melchior 1699-1773: 7th great grandfather
Rudolph I 1733-1797: 6th great grandfather
Rudolph II 1771-1837: 5th great grandfather
Rudolph III 1807-1889: 4th great grand uncle

Rudolph III's brother John Wanner Dettweiler 1802-1858 is my 4th great grandfather.

Rudolph III's wife Susannah Bingeman's sister Hannah married my 2nd cousin Rev Elias Snider (Schneider).

Your husbands 2nd great grandfather, Henry Dettweiler, is my 1st cousin 5x's removed.

Of course I don't have all the family listed yet so it may be even closer related seeing how everyone on each side is pretty much related. I will stop there or I will go on and on :)

Will have to add in the others and find out how your husband and I are related.

Thank you again for the pics.

Keep in touch,
