16 Sep 2015 - I am extremely busy right now until about the end of September maybe the beginning of October. I will get caught up on all my Findagrave emails and requests at that time. Thanks for your patience and understanding. |
I have had this happen only occasionally but it is kind of frustrating. If you have your messages disabled and your email address is not displayed - I can certainly understand the need for that.
But if you send me additional information, requests, suggestions etc about memorials I manage, please include an email address so that I can respond. I have received emails where the sender was simply incorrect, or they weren't necessarily incorrect, but there were reasons for what I showed etc. It would be nice to be able to respond to the message. It is only courteous to give the other person the chance to respond. They might have information that you don't. Please don't expect me to just do what you ask if you aren't going to give me that courtesy.
I have been researching my genealogy for over 25 years and am totally addicted. I also work on my husband's lines. I am new to the Greensboro area, but will try to help however I can. I recently moved from Texas to North Carolina. I had lived in Texas all my life until last year's move. While I miss Texas, I love North Carolina too.
I will not transfer memorials for people that I am related to. However, if you send me additional information etc that you would like added, I will be happy to do that.
If I am not related to the person, I will be happy to honor transfer requests to relatives of the person in question. I like for the memorials to be in a relative's care.
When I fulfill a photo request, I normally keep all originals of my photos, which I will share by email if requested. My photos may be used and reposted for personal use and not for profit. I do appreciate when people credit me as the source, just as a courtesy.
Due to continued frustration with Yahoo, I am changing my email address from Yahoo to Gmail. I will be keeping the Yahoo address so if anyone contacts me there I will still get the messages, and they won't give my email address to someone else.

The Find A Grave section under FAQ, Membership/Signing In, “What is a photo request?” mentions: “Many cemetery offices will only provide that information (exact grave location to photograph a possible marker) to relatives of the deceased and will not assist photo volunteers with finding the grave location.”
There’s a reason more than 50 requests have not been realized for Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay, WI. I suggest you contact the office manager, Mary Lemirande, at (920) 432-6077 or email her at email@example.com to learn the exact location of William McGee #83139911, especially which Park (section) and names of individuals buried on each side (N,S,E,W) of your individual. Then, go back to your “Request A Photo” and add those “notes” so a photo volunteer can at least take a photo of the grassy plot if no marker is present. The cemetery does not usually have a record if or when a marker was placed at a grave site. Without the specifics, the only other suggestion I have is to remove your request. Thank you!

|AnneS||Derby Memorial Transfers|
Thank you for transferring the memorials for my grandparents, uncles and cousin. I have copies of the obituaries for all of them, as well as mass cards.
To my knowledge, my Derby family does not have any branches in Orleans or Wayne County. Benjamin Derby settled in Jefferson County after the War of 1812 and his sons stayed in Jefferson and St. Lawrence County. However, it is a pretty common name in NYS and you find Derbys throughout the state.

|Janet Brooks||Beatrice Aderholt Miller|
I walked Bethel Missionary. I found no other marker for a Beatrice Aderholt Miller other than the one already posted to FindAGrave.
If you look at the memorial for Beatrice Aderholt you will find a lady with the same name, birth and death dates. The only execption... the name stops with Aderholt.
I hope this is the person you are seeking.
Oops Feb 19, 1934 ws the date of death

I am having a stone remade for Patti checking off my mothers wish list to see tht Patti had a stone placed. As you know mother died Feb 2014 and was buried there at Hewett next to Patti's father Woody Thomas. WHile buring mother were able to dig around and I did find a small marker jsut to the right of Woody Thomas Grave - and it is here that I am placing Patti's new head stone.
It will read,
Patti Leota Thomas McGee
Mar 15, 1915 - Feb 17, 1934
Died giving birth
Ima Lenora McGee
Died at birth February 17, 1934
I hope to have this all completed by years end.

|AnneS||Memorial 114613023 - Mildred O'Brien Derby|
Dear Ms. Ferris:
I write AGAIN to follow up on prior comments and emails regarding the memorial for my grandmother, Mildred O'Brien Derby. Please correct the record to reflect the site of her burial.
My grandmother is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York, with her husband and her son, Harris Derby who predeceased her. I was present for the funeral mass and the burial in 1991 and I can personally assure you that she is buried in Canton, not in Geneseo.
If you want additional verification about the site of the burial, you can find a notice about the funeral mass and the burial in the August 7, 1991 edition of the North Country Catholic. The newspaper is available on the Northern New York Historic Newspaper site. The North Country Catholic newspaper is one of the newspapers included in the site and is included with other newspapers published in ST. Lawrence County.
Please be advised that I will continue to leave public messages and send email messages periodically in order to get this error corrected. From what I have been able to determine you are not closely related to my family, so I don't understand your continued refusal to acknowledge my request and correct this error.
Thank you in advance for the courtesy of a reply and the correction of this error.

|AnneS||Memorial 114613023 - Mildred O'Brien Derby|
Dear Ms. Ferris:
I write AGAIN to ask that you correct the entry about my grandmother, Mildred O'Brien Derby. She is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Canton, NY, with her husband and her son, Harris F. Derby. I was present for both the funeral and the burial in 1991, and have also visited the grave site, since the burial.
Therefore, I can personally assure you that my grandmother is NOT buried in St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo, NY.
I'm sure that this seems like a minor error to you, but it is important to me, as a close family member to ensure that the error gets corrected.
Canton and Geneseo are not geographically close to each other, so it is not a small mistake.
Thank you in advance to correction of this error.
