Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in genealogy research for over 15 years. I enjoy taking photos and adding the information to this site in hope that it will help someone researching their family. I especially enjoy filling volunteer photo requests because it combines my love of photography, genealogy and volunteerism. If you see any mistakes or have additions to my postings, please let me know and I'll make corrections. I reserve the copyright of all my pictures.

Tip: Please include the gravesite location when requesting a photo. Most cemeteries only give out gravesite information to relatives. This can be done by calling the cemeteries directly.

Thank you for recording this. It is my thought that Mary J. Holmes (also in this cemetery), is his daughter and also the author of the letter in the picture.

Lemma Barkeloo
I have sent changes to you for Miss Barkeloo & her family. I've never before attempted to piece an article together in this format. It took me almost three hours to write what could have been written in 30 minutes. But my conscience would not allow me to have this information & not share it. However, the next time I face a task like this, I shall turn my back on it.
Please piece the story together on your end as carefully as I did on mine. This is not your domain & not mine. It is Emma's. That's why sharing is such a good idea when people mean well.

Ack! Most of the bodies were removed from St Johns Burying ground when it was destroyed, and I've spent significant time trying to track down the removals. Green-wood and Evergreen seem to have received the most. I hate removals! Thanks for the pointer, I'll ask for the admins to merge.

Alice Hauser
Thanks for the heads up on the dupe I created for Alice Hauser. I sent a note to Bob Collins to add the grave site photo he took to the original memorial and as soon as he does that I will delete the dupe

Ignatz Hartman
Thank you so much for sending me the information on Ignatz Hartman. Now I am really confused his stone says he died age 75 and your info says age 64 but I think the rest of the info (except dob) is the same, the death record I used to check it also says he was 75..........hmmmmmmm.
I guess more research is in order.

Lemma Barkeloo
I was reading St. Louis history casually, which is my custom, & came upon the fact that Miss Barkeloo was the first female in the US to try a case in court *anywhere*. I found that you had entered her, asked Mr. Lane to make a photo. He found the stone but could barely see it so asked a workman to bring it to the surface. In the meantime, I have discovered the very early Barkeloo family cemetery in Brooklyn - said to be Brooklyn's smallest family cemetery still existing. I wish to add quite a bit to the article I sent to you (you forgot to give me credit for it). What I have to add needs to be inserted in between paragraphs or lines, and so I ask for a transfer. I am #47861515. Please give my request your careful consideration.

Charles H. Burtis Find A Grave Memorial# 27992049
Charles H. Burtis is interred in Lot 928, Section 78 and not in the mausoleum on Lot 4295, Section 118. Lot 928 section 78 is where his Military marker has been placed. Jeff Richman the Green-Wood Cemetery historian has confirmed this and will be corrected in Charles H. Burtis' biography on the website. Please remove the image of Lot 4295, Section 118.

Charles & Irene Huestis - Green-Wood
Hi! You added a photo for Charles H Huestis, d. 1928, in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Could you add the picture to his wife, Irene, as well? Thank you!
