Retired. Live in Virginia midst history itself!|
Finding an ancestor's grave is like meeting a family member for the first time! And I've enlarged my family greatly as a result of like-minded folks who freely share facts and photos. Kudos to you all!

|Sandra McLemore||James McElroy|
You have James McElroy as being buried in the Old McElroy Cemetery at Cuba, Sumter, Al. There are no records to my knowledge that he's buried there. He is not listed on the published lists of people there. All of my research indicates that he died and is buried in neighboring Dallas County, AL where he lived and that location is not known. Many of his descendants moved to Sumter County, but there's no indication that he did. He is most likely buried on his land in Dallas County.
|Charles T. Baggett||Your request for Gorgia Ridel|
I just finished installing the last picture taken in Resthaven cem. I think I photographed every marker/plaque that was visible and did not find one for your request. All markers are flush on the ground except a couple of very high dollar tombs. I added about 200 not previously entered plus all the pics not previously taken. Maybe if you still have relatives near Oakdale, La. you could ask if one ever got placed. (I couldn't find the other request either). Sorry,...... Spooky
|Kendra ||Parents of J.R. Chandler|
Hello Little Louise,
I am a direct descendent of Jonathan R. Chandler's older brother, Wyatt Jackson Chandler. I believe these brothers have a younger sister, Eugenia Victoria Chandler and I'm fairly certain of the father's name, Oliver Cleveland Chandler, but I'm having a hard time finding the mother's name. In some records I see that Oliver C. Chandler was married 3 times. The first marriage was short because the wife passed away and there is no record of any children. The second marriage he had some children but it appears that she passed away at the time of the birth of a child. He married a third time and had more children with the third wife but none of the wives have listed any of these children above (Wyatt Jackson Chandler, Jonathan R. Chandler or Eugenia Victoria Chandler) as their child. The reason why we feel good about the fathers name, Oliver C. Chandler, is because his father is also a Wyatt Chandler with a son named Wyatt Jackson who would be a brother to Oliver C. Chandler. Oliver must have loved his father and brother and named his son after them. I hope that makes sense. We are searching diligently for the mothers name for Wyatt, Jonathan and Eugenia and were hoping that you may know mothers name.

Frankie is my husband's great grandmother and his mother Lois has Frankie as her middle name. Do you know more about the story of Dr. Sterling who treated Northern and Southern soldiers during the civil war?
