Please feel free to use any of the photos I post on this site! God has blessed me with the ability to photograph these headstones, so this is my way of giving back. So many wonderful people have photographed and created memorials of my family members! Frequently, my grandchildren will appear in the headstone photos that I post. They go with me to each cemetery and love cleaning up and placing flowers. Teach them to enjoy while they are young!|
I'm a mother of 4 children and grandmother of 7. I have been researching my ancestry along with my sister Debbie. We have really enjoied hunting and searching for our past. Find A Grave has been an excellent source of information for us. I feel it is very important to contribute to this site and do it in a manner that is respective and accurate. I'll be glad to take volunteer photos. I'm located in Adamsville, Jefferson County, Alabama. I am willing to go to Walker County any time.
If I have made a mistake on any of the memorials that I have created or maintain, please feel free to send me edits. If you are a direct relative and would like a memorial transferred to you, please make your requests via the edit tab and I will gladly transfer unless they are also my direct relative.
Some of the Surnames that I am researching include: Cairns, Roberts, Ragland, Rouse, Campbell, Creel, Cruce, Palmer, Mueller, Sherwood, Bradley, Entrekin, Ford, Smith.

Thanks so much for the additional information about my friend John Jaynes. The minute I read his sister's name in your e-mail it immediately came back to me. What you supplied should be plenty for me to contact her and find out what the last part of his life was like.
Thanks again, I really appreciate your sending it to me.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and for the information. I tried searching for an obituary but all I could find was a notice from the funeral home. It is vey short, it just listed the hospital and date of his death. I could not find his wife anywhere. I know he had an older sister, but her name escapes me. If you come across any more information, I would appreciate your letting me know. We were best friends long ago.

Pam - What is your connection to Eddyville if not the Noslers? I have a lot of family who was from there. I sent someone in Eddyville a gret photo I have of the city band. I didn't recognize any ancestor of mine in the photo, though, and no one there did either.
Thanks for the info about the new museum. HOpe I'll be able to get back there some day. If you happen to come across any info about Dr. Nosler or his family, I"d really appreciate hearing about it, please.
Thanks a lot! - Janet
Hello Pam - Just came across the newspaper clipping about his being elected mayor. Very cool. So neat that you got to visit Eddyville. He's my 3rd great grandfather. How about you? Do you have any more good stuff about him or Jemima that you're willing to share with me?
Thanks a lot for your efforts! - Janet

My name is Ian Butler. I was very good friends with John Jaynes, the son of Barbara and John throughout high school. Although I had not spoken to him in several years, I was saddened to read of his passing. I just found out about it when I did a search for his name in hopes of reestablishing contact with him. I also was fond his parents and especially enjoyed his father, who was always very kind. Could you give me any details about John? I see that he did have children. I know he was separated from his wife for a period. I can't recall her name, but she was an engineer of some kind. If you can give me any information I would appreciate it very much.

David M Etrekin was my 4th great grand uncle.
Mine line descends 1 gen. back to his father,
Thomas Entrekin, 1759-1839
Son: Nathaniel Entrekin (David's Bro.) 1804
4th great grandfather
son: Hillary Cannon Etrekin 1835
3rd great grandfather
son James Amos Entrekin 1854
2nd Great grandfather
Son: Charles Asbury Entrekin (some say Amos, but I found his signature - it was Asbury)
Son: Martin Luther Entrekin
Daugher- Nancy Mae Entrekin married Robert Levis Knowles - my parents
So, you would be my 6th cousin! Our common ancestor was Thomas Entrekin 1759
But we are also 8 cousins 1x removed by relationship to John Cannon (1712)
aND 20th cousins, 2 times removed by relationship to Elizabeth Bloyou (born 1280)!
I always knew I liked you!!!!
