Bio and Links
Bio Photo Genealogy and American History are my passions. That being said, I recognize that Find A Grave is a Memorial site, not a Genealogy site. But it is a great research tool, and as such should be made as correct as possible.
My "home" cemetery is Brookfield Cemetery, in Worcester county Massachusetts. I try to fulfill photo requests in the immediate area whenever possible.
I want these memorials to be in the hands of family members - if this is your 3x great uncle, he means more to you than to me! So, please ask, I will transfer.

Can you transfer Wendell Holmes 64507405 to me? His sister is my great-grandmother. Still a mystery to us why he is in Brookfield. His mother and 1 sister were in Worcester in factory work and the other sister was in Boston. The immigrated from Canada after the father had died. Thank you!

RE: Your edit for Bethiah Nichols in Brookfield
Bethia (Miller) Nichols is included in the Ware Genealogly; Robert Ware, of Dedham, Massachusetts, 1642 - 1966, and His Lineal Descendants. Compiled by Miss Emma Forbes Ware, of Milton, Mass. 1838 - 1898. Published by Charles H. Pope, 221 Columbus Ave, Boston, Mass. 1901. I have a reproduction copy acquired from The New England Historic Genealogical Society.

Page 73:
"Bethia, Feb. 14, 1815; d. Nov. 11, 1865, Chicago; m. Rev. Washington A. Nichols, now of Lake Forest, Illinois."

I have not further verified her death date or location.

Lt. Albert H. Mellen
I am sure I am late to the game on this one, but I just ran across a grave for Lt Albert H. Mellen in Brunswick County, NC, where he died. You have one for the same person in MA.

Soooo, what is the ruling on the duplicate graves?

My husband's family has a marker for a son who died and was buried in a Civil War prison camp. But there is no grave for the young man in the family plot, just the marker.

Lt. Mellen is not in my family tree. Not long ago I was in the Old Brunswick Burial ground taking pictures of headstone art. Today I was going through the pix. One is Lt. Mellen. I looked up info for him on Find A Grave and found the duplicates.

Looking forward to your response.

RE: Johnsons in Brookfield, MA
Hi Pauline - My dates for Mary Abbott Johnson came from a book called "The Stowell Genealogy" by William Harrison Stowell in 1970. Mary is listed on page 406. You can view the book at My family is in the book too and I have not found errors yet. Gloria Barnes

RE: Rev's Henry & James Kilbourn
Rev. James Kilbourn was alive on June 3, 1880 (census) in Racine with 2d wife and four sons, he was dead the next month, it's nearly obvious he was buried with family in Mound cem., Racine, other wise it's a good place holder, until a burial record can be located. No?

I'll get back to you on the Kenyon College question soon.

Thanks, Andy (1/2) Kilbourne
