DEFINITION OF GENEALOGY: "To dig up the dead and tick off the living"|
I love to walk through cemeteries. I find it very peaceful. I take many photos of headstones and memorials.
IF YOU SEE A MEMORIAL THAT I HAVE PLACED, BE 99% SURE THAT I HAVE THE PHOTO OF IT. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE A PHOTO ON MY MEMORIALS WITHOUT PERMISSION OR REQUEST. I will gladly transfer any memorial that is part of YOUR genealogy. THANK YOU. People have been placing photos and they are at times of such poor quality.
For 99.9% of my MEMORIALS, I DO have a photo.
Also, if I have stepped on anyone's toes who is doing genealogy research on their family, you can request that I remove my listing or transfer so that you can place your family history there. I've been in those shoes. Please correct me if you feel I have the wrong info. I really enjoy being able to help people find pieces of their past. Keeping information accurate is very important in preserving our history. Also, keeping this in mind, IF YOU WANT SOMEONE LINKED AND THEY ARE RELATED TO YOU, I WILL TRANSFER THE MEMORIALS TO YOU. You do need to REQUEST this, I am unable to read minds. I do not presume to know someone's genealogical connections,I just take pictures and hope that it may help someone find their roots. I AM NOT ON THIS SITE TO DO SOMEONE ELSES GENEALOGY. I would also appreciate it if you want to use my photos that you just ask. Thank you.
Again, should anyone find a relative among my entries and would like to add a bio, I will gladly transfer or delete the entry.

|Karyn Buckner Garvin||RE: Cheney Cemetery|
That's great, but there's still duplicate entries in two different cemeteries on the site that need to be dealt with. The easiest thing is for the contributors who created the entries to get together to figure out what to do to resolve the problem. Whether it's one cemetery or two cemeteries, and what to do with the duplicate entries once the problem is solved.
If it's supposed to be only one cemetery, the two need to be merged by submitting a request on the Cemetery Fix thread on the Forums here:
then the dupe entries have to be deleted or merged by sending in requests to the Edit email address.
If it's supposed to be two different cemeteries on the site, the contributor who has them in the wrong cemetery needs to delete their entries or request them to be merged by sending in requests to the Edit email address.
I hope the other contributor(s) will work with you to resolve this and clean up the mess.

|Gone But Not Forgotten||John Wolcott, II # 22418549|
Hi, I saw you posted a picture on John Wolcott, II memorial # 22418549. I was wondering if you have more information about this area. The picture you posted, says died Aug. 20, 1750 age 23.
The memorial it is on has birth 1677 which would be age 73. In my tree I do have a John Wolcott died 20 Aug 1750 but he is the son of John Wolcott 1696 – 1743 and Anne Sperry 1696 – 1769, not John and Mary (Chester) Wolcott. Did you happen to see another John in the same cemetery, do you remember where the picture was taken?
Thank you for any info you may have.

It is hard to read but it does say Lewis on the top of the stone, verified in Hale.

I found this article in The Matawan Journal, Matawan, N.J. Saturday, July 8, 1871. Vol. III
A little son of Hon. James Nichols, of Hartford, Conn., was accidentally and fatally shot, by a student who was practicing with a rifle.

Did not know if you could find any useful information from the article.

You may also transfer 26719650 Martha Louise Perkins Standish (great Aunt) - have added her photos today.
Many ancestors are buried in Wethersfield or Hartford with last names: STANDISH, HOWARD, BUTLER, CHURCHILL, ANDRUS, BELDEN, WELLS, TRYON, SIMMONS, HOWE, HALL DAVISON, BARBY, NEWTON, VANDERBURGH ... if I can be of assistance! I would be happy to respond to any inquiries.
