Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been climbing around
on my Family Tree, swinging
on it's branches, and digging
at it's roots for over
30 years, (since 1975).
I have been widowed since 1991, retired in 2005.
I LOVE Find-A-Grave. It is a wonderful
asset to the genealogy world.
If I've created a record that someone
needs to correct, update or add
information, please let me know and
I'll be glad to add your information
for you;... or if the person is your
direct family member, and you would
like to have me transfer "ownership"
of that memorial page to you, please
let me know...If that person is not
directly related to me and they are
directly related to you; I will be
glad to transfer their memorial to
you. However, I want to note:
Nearly all of the memorials that I
have created are connected to my
family tree and are a result of a
lot of years hard work and research.

To all the members who have been
kind enough to transfer "ownership"
of my family members to me....
I THANK YOU!
Find A Grave is one of my favorite
sites.
It has given me a place that I can
remember my loved ones and honor
their memory.

If you have time, please leave a flower
for my dear husband, Roy E. Hughes.

[by] A. Area, J. Area }Executors
Cabarrus county, Nov 9, 1844 3wpd.

It also appeared in the 16th, 23th and 30th editions.
What I found after this was rather interesting

Abraham Eary I
Birth ABT 1757 in Rowan Co., North Carolina
Death 03 Jan 1844 in Rowan Co., North Carolina

This seems to be the father of the Abraham Area that died in 1846.
Hum, other surnames he was under is Arey or Ihrig.
So the one you have is listed is Abraham Area Jr. from what some family charts show and yes, he was the hatter.
Many thanks and glad that is sorted out now! Sylvia

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 32367873 Abraham Area
Hi Loretta,
I think Find A Grave is having tech problems and it is attached to Ancestry now and they are having tech problems as well.
I was able to view the photo and see it clear enough to see year was 1846.
Abraham Area was a Hatter by trade. I'll try and see if I can find the 1844 entry again.
Thank you, Sylvia

Find A Grave Memorial# 32367873 Abraham Area
Hi!
Just wondering if you knew if there were two men with the same name there in North Carolina? I found the estate settlement of one that died prior to November 1844. Your entry is the only one listed, so thought I would check and see if you knew anything more about him.
Thank you, Sylvia Trotter

James Denny's wife Agnes
I have sent a longer email to your yahoo address concerning the misinformation and its correction on Agnes' entry #22154592. I accessed James Denny's Will, dated 10 Dec 1790, and he bequeaths to his wife Agnes and son William "...an equal interest" in his estate "...and at her decease I allow her part to become his property..." This Agnes is clearly alive in 1790 but an earlier first wife should not be ruled out. According to an article on Allen Denny in "Surry County Heritage--Vol. 1", James married a Janis Edwards in 1744 in PA and she is the wife who died before 1770 in NC and is the mother of all his children. His Will, however, does not refer to Agnes as a step-mother; in fact, he states: "But if my dear wife would choose rather to live with any other of her children I allow her to have her mare & saddle..." And if the Talbot Co, MD, records list a Mary Aldren as the wife in that marriage about 1743, that rules out Janis as the mother of his kids.

never mind re George Denny
Never mind about my previous note. I figured it out. The father I currently have for James Denny is actually his brother. I will make correction. Also, thanks for the nice job on Mary Agnes Aldren Denny's memorial re the "Tallon".
