The year is 2009, I'm 64 years old and we retired almost 3 years ago and moved to the country. About 2 and a half years ago my husband fell and had to have spinal cord surgery and has been recovering ever since. He is still on a walker and doesn't get out much.
The family names in my ancestors include Stone, Smelser, Swank on Mama's side and Singer on Daddy's side.
On Nov. 04, 2008, my only Grandchild, was killed in a single vehicle accident. He was only 16 (would have been 17 on June 17, 2009)and we miss him so much! We released 17 helium balloons on his Birthday and I think we will do the same next year. It is a comfort to us knowing he had accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior, he is now in paradise and we will see him again when it's time. Praise God!
His name was John David "J.D." Gaddis and it would mean a lot to me if you felt led to visit his memorial page and leave a flower or token for him. Thank you for your kindness. I want to thank Sparkysgrl for sponsoring his page, that was a very loving thing to do. Thank you.
A young man J.D. thought of as his step-brotherClayton Oliver was killed in the same wreck.
Volunteering for "Find A Grave" is a good way to get me out of the house. I've always thought it was interesting visiting cemeteries and looking at the old head stones. I am very happy to be able to get pictures for the people who are not able to see them for themselves.

MY SINCERE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO IS KEEPING MY DAUGHTER, ANGELA, J.D.'S MAMA, AND ALL MY FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS. BLESS YOU. BLESS YOU ALL!
Cemetery Photo Cathy, I was talking about the picture of the cemetery, not the headstone. When the cemetery photos are really big, and also the photo is already on the cemetery page, I like to remove them, so anyone new to findagrave can see the flowers that are left..since many do not know to scroll down.
I think a lot of people aren't familiar with some of the new edit process. I wish there was a way to notify everyone. I discovered it by accident.
As a submitter, you simply click on edit as always but it lets you actually do some of the edits yourself. However, the memorial doesn't update until the person who manages the memorial accepts the edit. The manager can also reject.
To find out if you have edits that need to be approved or rejected, go to your own bio page. There is a tab called Edits just to the left of the Contributor Tools tab. If there is anything there you will see them when you click on that tab.
oops Not sure why that posted several times. But my correction van karie was my great grandfather, and van cora was my great great grandfather. My grandmother is Laweta Wagley, we are under the impression she was a product of an affair.
