Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi, my name is Penny Graham McCauley. My ancestors first came to Grant County, New Mexico in 1870 from Scotland and Ireland. I was born in Deming, New Mexico. I live on a ranch with my husband and kids in Grant County. I love researching both my family's and my husband's family's histories in Luna, Grant and Sierra counties. Our kinfolk include Phillips/Graham/Kenney, Dugan/Inglis/Crawford, Kirkley/Thorton/Gordon, Morton/McCauley/Brown, Riggs/Fishback/Stark, Jones/Carr/Winn. I am a photographer, who enjoys digitally restoring old photos and making family albums.
Please feel free to use any photos I post.

Gordons in Oak Hill
I transferred and added grave photos of 4 Gordon memorials in Oak Hill. They can now rest peacefully in your care.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

RE: Elizabeth Lambert Brown
Penny on my ancestry page I have all the family information for Benjamin and Elizabeth Lambeth Brown. I have the Lambeth Family History too. It does nat state that Elizabeth is buried there and the cemetery is in ruins. If your son goes there I hope he can find some records. It is listed in the book and on Find a Grave as Guilford NC with no address. In the Family history the cemetery is described as being on Josiah Lambeth's Land. Descendants have purchased and restored it but no location is given. If you want me to send any more information I will be glad to. Send an email to

RE: Eliza Graham
Penny, sorry I could find nothing for Abel. There does not appear to have ever been anything else on the sides of Eliza's stone & I found no other. Of course that does not mean he is not there :) Carol

RE: Georgetown Cemetery
Thank you in advance for your time and work in getting this headstone, of my family. I believe Joseph Silvester KESTER, is the only Kester buried in this cemetery. If you find any headstones marked KESTER, I would like photos, of the headstones. Again Thank you, Linda

RE: Edward Weare Photo
Penny, if you find the mention in the paper, please send! I found in military enlistment records on that Edward died from pulmonary tuberculosis. That is where I found the place of death as being Deming also. And I did notice a number of others listed with the same cause of death. I will go back and look at those records more carefully. In 1900, I believe he was in a military hospital in California. Don't know the reason, but could have been the tuberculosis. I do not yet know if he was discharged from the army before his death - the date on the enlistment record did not make sense. I would imagine that those with tuberculosis might have been sent to Fort Bayard hospital for treatment of their illness - perhaps they specialized in that or the climate was thought to help? But he could have just gone to Deming for some reason and died there. I too love a good mystery, so I will be waiting to see if you come up with anything! Thanks again.

Edward Weare Photo
Thank you for quick response in posting a picture of the tombstone for Edward Weare in Fort Bayard National Cemetery. We are linking the entire family on Find A Grave and this helps make our project more complete!

Carrol Porter
Hi Penny, thanks so much for the picture of Carrol's grave. Your volunteer work is appreciated. Do you allow others to post the headstone photos on on-line family trees?

Thanks, again
