Stories of my Illinois ancestors were shared with me by my great grandmother Grace Ellen Smith Scanlon at an early age and this sparked a deep interest in genealogy and learning more about my heritage. After many years of library and Internet research I decided to visit the areas where my Smith, Rowland, and Wilkerson ancestors once lived. I've now made several trips to Illinois, specifically Montgomery County, and over the course of these visits have developed an interest in documenting cemeteries. My main focus is on abandoned family farm and small community cemeteries that are difficult to locate and are in the greatest need of being recorded. |
It's exciting to research how everyone in a cemetery is related to each other and I enjoy getting emails from descendants who have discovered pictures of their ancestors graves here on this fabulous site.
Closer to home my Mom and I are helping with photo requests and general clean-up at Grand View Memorial Park in Glendale.
As part of my masters thesis I am currently documenting how the victims of the St. Francis Dam disaster are memorialized. I am continually thankful for my many fellow find-a-gravers across the U.S.A. helping me locate and photograph the grave of each flood victim so they are not forgotten.
I do my best to provide complete and accurate information in all my postings. Corrections are encouraged! I will gladly transfer memorials to family and I am happy share my photographs, but please give proper credit: "Ann Stoddard, Find A Grave #46964942". If I have offended anyone by adding their loved ones to the site please let me know and I will promptly remove the memorial.
I can be contacted at email@example.com

Thank you for adding Anna's grave to the site. She was my great-grandmother.
I lived in the San Fernando Valley during the 70s & 80s and located her grave when I was made aware she had been visiting her son in Chatsworth and tragically died when she stepped off a curb in L.A. and was struck by a car.
I'd like to provide some family links for Anna. If you're willing to transfer her memorial to me, I would be very grateful. Meanwhile, her story in a nutshell:
Anna Sophia Hokanson, dau. of Nils Hokanson (various spellings) and Bengta Mattisdotter. Her family emigrated from Virestad, Kronoberg, Sweden in 1885, settling in Golden, CO, where her father, (morphed into "Nelson"!) worked for the Adolph Coors Brewing Co. Anna married 1st Axel T. Fredlund, in 1894, in Montrose, CO. She had 3 sons: Frederick Axel, Reuben S., Dewey, 1 dau., Helen May, my grandmother. She and Axel divorced. She later remarried Ernest C. DuBuisson, Memorial #3704245. He died in L.A. at the VA hospital.
Kind regards, Julie Preston, Contributor #46832501
|TLS||Young Dai Hahn (75428686)|
Was married to silent actress Sally Hahn. He and his son died in a 1953 automobile accident.
Young was a Korean physician and Stanford University graduate. A day after his wife committed suicide (June 2, 1933) by shooting herself, Young took a dose of poison, attempting to end his own life. His suicide note read, "wait for me, I'm coming." He also requested that his cremated remains be mixed in with Sally's.
Sally Hahn's remains are in located at Hollywood Forever, Colonnade, Niche L - and are unmarked.

Sorry, I have not visited this cemetery. I was researching families who had relatives lost in a dam break.
