it is because of my precious mother that I became interested in Family History, Family was most important to her. That passion was taken away from her. And we were framed.|
Regarding Transfer Requests:
If you are NOT a family member within the Find A Grave guidelines and/or If you are a "collector" do not bother to request a transfer.
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents.
Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made.
Please use the edit feature within the memorial to let me know of any corrections/additions to my listings so that I may make the changes.
"The goal at Find A Grave should not be to manage all of your family members. If you have information to add, you should suggest it to the current manager and they should make the changes."
~Jim Tipton, creator of Find A Grave
I am more than happy to edit, add info and/or bio(s), and/or link family members.
If you are NOT related or if your relationship does not fall within Find A Grave guidelines a one time Sponsorship to Find A Grave of only $5 and I will transfer the memorial.
All photos submitted to Find A Grave by me are copyrighted by me. No use of photos for personal use is given without prior consent. No use of photos for any other PERSONAL website(s) is given. In the past a certain Find A Grave contributor posted some of the photos I submitted to Find A Grave as her own to her own memorials. This is absolutely against FAG guidelines.
NO one likes a Bully or to be Bullied or harassed. If one should choose to leave a rude, hateful or otherwise inappropriate message on my bio page or on any FAG memorial I will report you to Find A Grave admin.
For the FIRST time since I became a Find A Grave contributor I have blocked public messages because of a bully.
I truly feel sorry for the rare few who cannot seem to help themselves. No wonder there are children who grow up with the uncontrollable tendency to bully, Rob, steal and abuse their own and others.
Surely even poor old Mr. W can understand BULLYs are not welcome here!

Kindly remove / delete Memorial # 96315714 for my Uncle as mine was created years before and your memorial is a duplicate and unnecessary.

I am not sure how Find-A-Grave works, but I am absolutely certain that it is a tremendous service to those of us unable to visit family grave sites.
My mother is a daughter of Ellis Franklin and Frances Adams Gates, but, thankfully, she is very much alive. Is that why she is not listed as a child on this site?

|Cynthia Taylor||Sallie Harrison Taylor|
I am searching for my father's family and saw your contribution for Sallie Taylor. I think she might be my grandmother. My father was Bennie Buford Taylor. Some of his siblings were JT, Cecil, Willie, Dorothy and some others. My grandfather's name was William Taylor.
Can you tell me if this is any relation to my father.

Didn't know. Sounds like a nice jester.
Did you know
Sgt. John Carl "Jake" Ramsey, Jr. #94672788, was a NM State Police officer. In the headstone photo(s) we are reminded that Officer Ramsey was known for his kind heart and handing out small stuffed animals to under privileged children.

Thank you, Carolyn. I am actually distantly connected with James Overton Hill's 3rd wife, Mary Parolee "Minnie" Woolley. (she was my 3rd cousin 3X removed! ha!) Anyway, I had stumbled on to Octa's story that you transcribed and put on Findagrave, and I was intrigued. She must have been a really interesting lady! Loved her story and it had so much info in it, love the way she described life back then.
I got involved in the Hill family search, trying to sort out James Overton Hill's many children ---and which ones belonged to each wife. I believe wife #1 died young, wife #2 died after giving birth to twins (Seems as though twins run in that family) and then my relative came along as wife #3.
Hope your hubby is recovering. I know how stressful that is. My hubby has had quad bypass surgery TWICE; I lost my mom, both in-laws and my youngest brother (he battled MS for 30 years) all 2011-2013. :(
Thanks for the info.

|Sandra Gwilliam||Thanks for the updates|
Thanks for the updates to Homer Oliver Smith's memorial. Thanks also for adding him to find a grave!
I appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping us find our ancestors. It is so much fun to see virtual family groups and pedigrees of our kin start to link together at find a grave thanks to dedicated volunteers like you. I am sure that your precious mother would be proud of what you are doing.
