More than two decades ago my mother showed me a notebook she used when she was in high school to record some family history. I've been working on our genealogy ever since. Most of my research involves French Canadian and New England families, as well as my husband's Ohio German and Ukrainian roots.|
I love the opportunity that Find A Grave offers for helping others find the missing pieces of their family "puzzles".
Santa Fe National Cemetery: Many thanks to Katrina, who has taken over as curator of the International Wargraves account. With her help I have moved almost 4000 erroneous memorials for veterans who are actually buried elsewhere, and they have merged another 1000 plus duplicates associated with the same original bad uploads. HOWEVER there are still lots of bad memorials listed for Santa Fe. Some are inadvertent duplicates, but most are deliberate errors perpetrated by volunteers who repeatedly violate Find A Grave guidelines prohibiting memorials for living spouses as well as memorials added simply because the person served in the military. If the person is not listed in the Santa Fe National section of the VA's Gravesite Locator at
http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/ then they are probably NOT buried at SFNC.
Please feel free to use any photo I have taken in on-line or personal family trees. It would be nice if you would credit me for the photo.
If a memorial I have added is a family member of yours, I am happy to transfer management. I will also usually transfer out of FAG guidelines if there is a good reason. Please ask politely. I do not respond well to nastiness.
I am happy to receive edits but please do not ask me to post obituaries unless you wrote them, hold the copyright, or have explicit permission from the writer. This is against Find A Grave policies. Feel free to write a bio yourself paraphrasing the information, but I will remove references to living individuals in most cases for privacy reasons.
Please use the edit tab for corrections and transfer requests, it heads off a lot of potential problems.
PLEASE - No drama.

Did you possibly update information - when someone does that and I'm not related, I transfer the memorial to their keeping.

Bless you for your sentiments! I have learned the hard way not to take transfer for granted even in the most obvious places. Some would rather let the deceased individual go with the very most minimal information than share. Virginia

Thanks for taking this photo for me, I really appreciate it!

I was researching Robert N Parsons when I came across the fact that he was buried at Santa Fe. I am always very glad when Santa Fe Natl comes up because I know a very diligent FindaGrave volunteer! :)
Thanks for another great picture!
Thanks so much for the Nelson photos at the Fairview memorial park cemetery. I will probably never get down there to see them and this is the only way I get to see some memorials. Thanks again

I have sent you an obituary for the bio section of this memorial for Shawn Hamby. I added a photo, let me know if that is not satisfactory. Thanks and best wishes, joe

Thank you very much for taking photos of my great uncle and aunt's memorial plaques at Sunset Memorial Park. I've never had a chance to get out to Albuquerque. I really appreciate seeing the photos.

Thanks for the transfer offer. I was a friend and colleague of William Dabney, but I am not related. In the next few days I will be sending you a little bit of information to enhance the memorial which you can add at your convenience. Otherwise why don't you hold on to the memorial in case one of his family wants it.
Thanks for all of your great work on Findagrave.
