Please send all corrections and requests for transfers using the [Edit] tab --> "Suggest a Correction" function you will find on the actual memorial page. |
** IF YOU WANT A RESPONSE TO AN INQUIRY YOU SEND ME ** I do not post on public walls so you must have at least 1 memorial you manage and I can then correspond with you privately using [Edit] on that memorial. Everyone should manage at least one memorial so people can correspond with you privately! If you wish for me to send an electronic document, then you must provide an email address on your profile page or send it in an [Edit]. Thanks. **
For transfers, please include your relationship to the person in your message and it needs to be sent through the SAC process not on the public wall.
I do transfer beyond standard FindAGrave guidelines. However, if you are new to FindAGrave, I ask that you be active for at least 6 months and be contributing new memorials. The only reason for this is because too many people abandon their memorials after an initial flurry making it very difficult for others to get corrections made. I do not want to transfer the memorial to find out later that suggested revisions are not being attended to.
Regarding gravemarker photos I have uploaded... READ the caption for that particular photo and if it states that someone else has allowed me to upload the photo then that means you must contact them for permission, not me, before you post elsewhere. Please respect the copyright held by others.
If the gravemarker photo caption does not specify anything about special copyright, then it is a photo I took and I grant you permission to use it for your personal use. I also grant permission to historical societies, churches, schools or similar nonprofits to use the images for any purpose they wish including "commercial use" in publications or other services they provide.
Please attribute the source as "From FindAGrave.com - Used with written permission from photographer."
If the photo is from a memorial card -- source notation is not needed as it is not my work.
I generally include your suggested edits for the BIO section just as you send them except for editing obvious typos or if I contact you about discrepancies with information I have. Therefore, if I miss something, please contact me again; no need to wonder if I am "one of those people" who finds it necessary to edit out information that is/was available publicly. I assume you took the time and effort to create a SAC for a reason and want this site to be useful to other researchers.
Because there is a limit of 5 free photos and you have some you would like to upload that you feel are higher quality than what I posted, please contact me as I usually will remove mine.

You are very welcome.
Thank you for your kind words.
I have never had an issue with people using my photos. Once posted they are public domain as far as I am concerned.
As such please feel free to use them in any way you like.
Giving me credit is not necessary. But if you do just list me as DDM.

Thank you for the information on Audrey Hall. Because of this information I was able to link family members for those who use this site for genealogy research.
Thank you for all that you do!
Thanks for the tips on photo posting.

Thanks for pointing out the duplication on these two cemeteries. I have addressed the issue and hope to work it out with the other contributor. The issue comes about because of confusing signage at the site.

Happy to transfer management to you for Quentin & Val Junger and Flora & Edward Lindberg. Let me know if you have any more. We ( Twin Ports Genealogical Society ) indexed it last year from an index we recieved from Hermantown. A published copy with the photos is at the Historical Society, Duluth Library and MHS. And yes, that is little Aurora Janzig, we were captivated by her story. KarenS.

Thanks for the website to get the plot/lot/grave numbers for my ancestors. I think I have them all entered now. Doe a site like this exist for other cemeteries also?
