Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised and work in northern Virginia. I'm a 66 year old Federal Government employee with 42 years of service. Almost ten years after its inception, I found this site quite by accident when a co-worker asked me to help him at lunch time take a photograph of a headstone that was overgrown with bushes. After that, I was hooked fulfilling photo requests, primarily at nearby Arlington National Cemetery.

Then it occurred to me that this would be a great place (free (thus far)) to document my family tree for all to see, which would be based on the extensive genealogical research that my aunt has been doing for the past 15 to 20 years. This project of linking thousands of memorials is going to take a very long time (if it's at all possible) to complete due to several memorial creators, totally unrelated to my family, who will neither transfer ownership nor respond to SAC edits. That is not to say that all memorial creators are like that. Indeed, most are very gracious and totally responsive, and for that, I whole-heartedly thank them.

If I have a memorial for one of your relatives or even someone else whose memorial you're willing to maintain, I'll gladly transfer ownership upon request. Please make your transfer request via the edit tab on the memorial page, and then SAC. I don't understand the reasoning behind many members wanting to hold on to memorials of folks they have no relation to, genetic or otherwise, when there are people willing to maintain them. Findagrave's guidelines are just that, guidelines. The logic behind the beyond-the-two-generation and non-direct-line transfer request guideline from multiple members is specious at best; those requesters would be related and should be able to work out maintenance issues better than the unrelated memorial creator.

Regarding duplicate memorials, it's never my intention to create a duplicate on purpose. If you come across a duplicate I that have made, please submit an SAC on the Edit tab of the memorial page and let me know, and provide the number of the original memorial. Thank you.

You have my permission to use any of my photos, as long as you include attribution. (Please don't ask, just use them.)

David Nathaniel McInturff
Need you to do some research on this name above Memorial # 75781239, I could be wrong, but I don't think this is the son of David James and Lucinda Borders Mcinturff. I known for sure that he not Lucinda son, David James never married, but he had a son name Daniel David "Diddum Dave" McInturff, born about 1851, the mother name was a ? Britt(this was told to me from older family members) I never new my grandfather (William Reed McInturff), he past away 30 years before I was born. Lucinda was the mother of three children, one she didn't carrier long, the other two children was William Reed McInturff 06Aug1888(marker is wrong)-29May1914(I was born 29May1944)and Claty Myrtle Border McInturff 14Oct1889-30Nov1976; Myrtle told me a lot about the family and her daughter Nan, both are buried in Roselawn Memorial Parks. I have no idea what happen to David James son (Diddum Dave). I was also told that he wasn't too smart, guess this is how he got his nickname and that he died young. I have no ideal who this David Nathaniel belong too. Thanks for hearing me out. David Willard James McInturff was my father, son of William Reed and Cora Alice Jones McInturff. One more correction...Lucinda is in a unmarked grave beside of David James, in my 71years there has been no marker for her in the John McInturff Cemetery(Dry Creek now White Cove), this cemetery is on the homestead. Play in it many many times. I am sorry if I got you upset, just trying to help an keep the history going. Thanks for hearing me out, if I can be any help let me know. Barbara Ann McInturff Dowden

RE: McEntarffers in Hamilton Cemetery
Checking the lot location, it appears the stones are no longer there. The same area has several broken stones, I can only guess that is what happen to these. Sorry,

RE: Alice and Clyde McInturff
Dan and I have both done the Ancestry dna test. His son and I've done the 23andMe test. It can be a little overwhelming. I haven't looked at the 23and Me site in awhile. I should be able to find you as a match there, correct? Must admit that I don't completely understand how matching the segments works. I've been using Ancestry's new beta dna page and like it, mostly because it takes the work out of it for me.

Do you have a copy of the McInturff book by Kringer? I found one on eBay a year or so ago.

Thanks for turning over Alice and Clyde to us. You've done a tremendous amount of work.

RE: Amarilla McInturf Wren
You're welcome. Heavily shaded area made it difficult. FYI, the footstone at left of Mother only states "Father". It has no dates.

Belated thanks for the photo of the plot. Very odd that her name is not on the monument or anywhere else as she is listed on the ANC public mapper website.

Stephen Fletcher
I just saw you had put a memorial up for Stephen F
Fletcher, buried at Arlington Cemetery, as Unknown
I had an Ancestor Stephen Fletcher who was in the Rev.War about 1780 or shortly after. He was living in Virginia and married Mary Barns in Culpepper Co. VA in late 1700s as his son Vincent Fletcher was born in 1781 while he was away in the Rev. War. He had a second Son Stephen Fletcher Jr.
Would this unknown Stephen Fletcher be this Stephen Fletcher?

Thanks, Martha Kaufman, m4hamilton71@yahoo.com

Thanks for the bio correction. My great-grandmother was Delilie/Delilah Hettie McInturff (Hutcheson), daughter of Branson Lichliter McInturff & Delilah Hettie Ridenour (McInturff). Who are your ancestors?

RE: McEntarffers in Hamilton Cemetery
I'll try to get to the library tomorrow. Going to look up both sets of names and see what is going on. I looked up Daniel McEntarffer and it said that section and lot for all three... but then the names don't match... and some dates. I have a name and phone number that's been passed to me for the cemetery. I will give her a call after I run up to the library.
