Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi I live in Louisiana - Most of my family are from West Monroe in Ouachita Parish, Jackson Parish and Shreveport (Caddo Parish),Louisiana.

I've been interested in geneology since about 2000 and have found so many stories of those in them fascinating - as well as learning of my heritage - which has really surprised me in a lot of cases.

John Luster Lawless
Per his Spouse. John was married before the spouse you listed.

Gussie Lenore Generelly. (she was my 1st cousin 2x removed.

Gussie was born Oct. 1884 in Arkansas and died Oct. 11, 1918 in Harrison Co, Texas. Burial: Greenwood Cemetery. (I have not found cause of death but think it could have been from child birth). Gussie married John Luster Lawless in 1917. I am sure he was married to her as I found a few records plus his brother James William was married to Gussie's sister Mabel.

John Luster listed Gussie as his wife on his WWI Reg. Registrar's Report is stamped 42-17-0 This was for the Reg..for WWi. The Texas Death record number for him is: 1103.

Thank you.

I have put a request in for photos of my Great Grandparents Joseph L. and Laura Prudhomme in May but have not have anyone claim it. Do you take photos at this cemetery? Thank you Geri

Thank you Peggy! You are one of my findagrave Angels!

Since my first email to you earlier I have found Freeman descendants here in Texas where I am! Such an incredible journey!

Katie Idelman Freeman #15548862
Hi Peggy,

I am working on my family genealogy which includes that of my late husband who died at age 34 in 1983.

Katie Freeman was my late husband's great-great grandfather Man Idelman's brother's daughter. I am always thrilled when I am able to trace women, as they can be so hard to find. I am surprised to see Katie in Louisiana as New Orleans was where my late husband and I met in college, and my late husband was from Boston. :-)

Katie came from a large family of 8 children. I still have one sibling yet to find, and of course it is a woman whose first name I do not know . . . yet.

I would be thrilled if you would transfer Katie's memorial to me so that I can add details to her memorial, and connect her with her parents and siblings.

Thank you for all that you do for those who have passed, and thank you for your consideration.

Waid Anderson & Sarah Bryan
One of Waid's and Sarah's children was Charity Bryan who married Christian Asbury Capers Herlong, my great-great-grandparents. I am sad that I cannot locate Charity's grave. I am 76 years of age and started my interest in genealogy rather late. Had I been interested at a younger age, I would have stomped all over the Calhoun area and adjacent parishes to find her. I wonder if her grave still exists, maybe it gone now. My sisters and I believe it is located on what is now a privately owned hunting ground/club in Ouachita Parish. It's probably not far from Herlong Lane or in that vicinity. It's sad that she was not included in any of the Ouachita Parish cemeteries that are listed. Would I love to know the story on that! She was the 1st marriage to CAC "Cap" Herlong. Of that marriage a daughter, Amanda Melvina "Mittie" Herlong was born, making her and her spouse, John Averett, my great-grandparents. Elizabeth Averett Buchanan, hometown West Monroe, LA, residing in Richardson, TX.

Brenda Custer Randall
Indian Village Cemetery
Hello, Peggy:

Would you please try to change Indian Village, Bryan (aka Bryan #1) and Bryan Family (aka Bryan #2) Cemeteries to Calhoun instead of West Monroe.

After upcoming CHS reunion 4/28 I'll be working on history of Calhoun, specifically cemeteries and families and would enjoy your input since you've done lots in the above plus Calhoun City Cemetery.
