Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy as a hobby for over 25 years and am gradually adding members of my family and others to Find A Grave, and/or adding personal photos from my collection and details to memorials which you wonderful volunteers have already added. I have Swedish ancestry and enjoy doing Swedish research in my spare time.

Besides my family and its connections in the USA and Sweden, my other areas of interest are historical, war and military graves in Europe. The purpose of my contributions to the Find A Grave website is to respectfully honor and help preserve the memories of those who have gone before us.

Please use the edit tab on each memorial page for suggestions, corrections or additions.

My grave photos are free to anyone for non-profit use, and it would be much appreciated if you gave credit to Find A Grave.

Thanks to everyone for your contributions and for so promptly filling requests! I will upgrade all memorials where photo requests of mine are fulfilled.

Andrew L. Axelson picture caption
Selden Yard Cemetery: Andrew Ludwig Axelson is an uncle to my grandfather (FarFar). The caption under the tombstone picture states: "Andrew L. Axelson and his mother-in-law Magdalena Peterson". Can you put me in touch with someone with knowledge of this relationship? I have a lot of genealogy compiled on the Axelson family from Sweden and have been searching for Anders. Tks

RE: re: Daniel Fiske Jr family in Grafton
You're very welcome for the photo. And thank you for posting a photo request, I would not likely have ever known the memorials had been deleted. Since you knew the family, if you have any bio info for Dan's parents or wife I would be happy to add it (especially the not vital record stuff like "hosted great beach cookouts"). -Judi

re: Daniel Fiske Jr family in Grafton
Hi Bob,
Per your photo request I posted a photo of Daniel Jr's gravestone. Troubling to me was I had created memorials for ALL four Fiskes in the plot and posted their plot & stone photos--Dan Sr. & wife Annie, Dan Jr. and wife Elizabeth--and had transferred all but Elizabeth per a "family member" transfer request and today (because of your photo request) found they had been deleted. I spent months photographing the older sections of that cemetery and creating memorials. :(
I have re-created memorials for the parents of Daniel Jr. and re-posted photos and I will send you links to them via his edit tab. Sincerely, Judi

Thank you for the picture, but my great Uncle did not perish at Dachau. He had been moved to Buchenwald and then was somehow pulled out by the US Red Cross. He died in Portland, Oregon on April 14, 1955. He was buried at Zentralfriedhoff, Vienna, Austria with his wife Amalia and daughter Margarethe.

request
you have a photo request for Maria Falk, and as you said for her husband, there aint no such grave. her name was Persdotter not Persson, and it look like they have one more son Karl born 1885. dead 1960, grave until 2010 - so that might be there. (1,5 hour from me). (coincident I have the same lastname)

RE: Frances and Henry Fassnacht memorials
Thanks for your kind words, Bob. If they are family and you'd like me to transfer them to you, I'm happy to do so.

RE: Dachau memorial
Hi Bob,

Thanks for your reply. Thanks also for the photos which you took.

The plus-side of the approach is that I found out that my relative had been in Dachau, a fact which I hadnt known previously which has now opened up new areas of research. So, whilst, it is miseleading to indicate that all the prisoners died there, there was a helpful spin-off for me.

Nevertheless, clarification on the find-a-grave site is needed and I will contact the International Wargraves Photography Project, as suggested. The IWPP Custodial Account has messaging disabled and no email address available, so I will use the first one.

Thanks and regards,
NB

Dachau memorial
I have a question recording the Dachau memorial site. I have found a record listed for a relative. I am still investigating but I'm not sure whether he died there as the records showed he was liberated.

Can you tell me the source for the names of the people on the find-a-grave site for this memorial please ? Or give me a contact name to follow up. I also saw a message along the same lines from Kaz from March of this year, so I think it would be useful if the people who maintain the find-a-grave site could indicate on the page the source. Whilst many did die at Dachau, not all did and it can be misleading and potentially distressing to record all of them as having died there.

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions on this.
