I live in Central Alabama; about 12-hours away from any cemetery with relatives. Between 2004-2007, I lived in Northwest Florida where I spent most of my weekends driving to remote cemeteries to document and photograph headstones. I haven't documented any cemeteries since I left Florida in 2007, but I still have that geeked-out feeling when we drive by a really old cemetery!
The joy comes when I hear back from relatives of those individuals I have added to Find-A-Grave. Because the majority of my entries are of no relation, I am more than willing to make transfers to your profile. I try to stay within the 4-generation Find-A-Grave guidelines; which are Spouses, Parents, Brothers and Sisters, Children, Grand-children, Grandparents, and Great-Grandparents. Of course, those are just guidelines, not law and even if you are a 2nd cousin 3x removed, I'll probably transfer. Please use the "EDIT" tab to ask for EACH transfer. Please state your relationship to the deceased in the transfer request. And please, after it transfers to you, don't delete it and enter your own. I've worked very hard to document these memorials.
For any corrections or to add other information, please us the "EDIT" tab on the upper right side of the memorial to send the information.
Thank you to Jim Tipton, A.J. Marik, and Russ Dodge for their dedication to this website. Without them, other staff, and most of all -- the volunteers, this site would not be available.

On your personal findagrave home page there is an edit tab at the top of the page. If you click that tab you can choose to accept or reject any corrections all at one time which makes it easier. This was new to me a couple of months ago. It might be new or I just didn't see it. Unfortunately, unless the person making the suggestions uses anyone of the first four categories for the edit, you do not get any email notice that corrections are there other than a number showing up next to the edit on the tab. You just have to know to check it every now and then.

Ok thanks Jeremy. and thanks for the work you have done on my family members site
|Alan Fortin||Not Spouse|
William A. Fortin Sr. was Alice Piette Fortin's Son Please correct that as soon as possible
|Alan Fortin||Alice Piette Fortin|
Alice Piette Fortin was William A. Fortin Sr's Mother could you please place a link on his obit going to hers. also I notice there are a lot of spelling error's in my family's names, Laurie Fortin of New London, Conn., Yolonda Fortin of Montville, Conn., and Dawn Marie Fortin of Baltic, Conn.;
Also he passed away October 28th 1991 and he was born November 23rd 1949 not 1950.
His sister Pauline Dickerson was from North Branch Michigan not North Bank Michigan.
As you can see I also uploaded some images of him that I had.

Hi Jeremy, I like your bio. and attitude about Find A Grave and sharing. Not everybody is like us. I just wanted to tell you this.
I am going to hit you up about at least one transfer right now. The right way! Still waiting on some people who are not related, not updating until contacted, and not transferring relatives to relatives, to sit "on all their work". Sorry, I just had to get this out. I hope I did not ruin things. Sincerely, Eli Chandler
Thanks so much. You are awesome.
