Bio and Links
Bio Photo A cemetery is not a place just to bury the dead. It should be a sacred place for quiet reflection, peace, tranquility, honor, and remembrance. It is a history of people and a perpetual record of yesterday.

Love begins with a smile...grows with a kiss...and ends with a teardrop....

I will not use chalk, shaving cream, brake fluid or any other potentially harmful methods to enhance the inscriptions. Please do not use these on any photo requests I make, Thank You.

Although FINDAGRAVE can be very useful for genealogy, FINDAGRAVE as the name implies is a grave registration site not a genealogy site. I try to use this as my guide when on this site.

I will NOT add a link to a burial unknown memorial, because I am still actively looking for where the person is actually buried. This site is named Find a GRAVE for a reason.

Please do not request to add a birth date calculated from the gravestone, unless the complete age is known or listed (y/m/d). Dates that do not agree with the gravestone will be placed in the bio section. Thank You.

When I clicked on the line to Find A Grave I got "George C. Boughton" - did he have something to do with Emma? And what was Emma's last name?

Henry Rutgers Marshall
Good morning, Gary,

I called NY's Woodlawn Cemetery. They do not have Mr. Marshall, nor does it say he was moved. Apparently the obituary had incorrect information. Both father and son are buried in South Cemetery. Sorry for the confusion, all the information I found on him stated that he was buried in NY as well.

Henry Rutgers Marshall
Hi again,

Obviously its late and my brain isn't working....I got the cemeteries and states mixed up. Henry is actually buried in New York according to his obit. I did not find a separate memorial for his wife, so I can't confirm where she is at, although since both Henry's stone and his wife's are memorial stones, I would guess that she is buried in New York with him.

Sorry for the mistake, its late here in Arizona :)

Hi Gary,

I was doing research on this gentleman who was an architect and came across two burials for him on Findagrave, with two death dates. I did find his obituary from the New York Times which does say he was buried in Connecticut at Woodlawn, as the other volunteer has, but interestingly enough, his obituary reads that he died on the 3rd and his memorial stone that you have the great photo of has the 2nd. Of course, the paper could most certainly be wrong as to his time of death as he died at the hospital and word may not have gotten out until the 3rd. Anyhow, I didn't know if you wanted to add the note that this is a memorial stone and not where he is actually buried or not. Your photos are lovely! Thanks for the information!

Peter and Polly Hurd
Dear Mr. Boughton,
Thank you for all the work you have done on the Hurd burials in Lands End Cemetery. Peter and Polly Hurd are my 3d great grandparents. My 2d great grandfather, Stiles Hurd (1817-1891), is buried in Union Cemetery in Stratford, CT. I've submitted a link to Peter and Polly as his parents; I presume this will automatically link him to all those babies buried in Newtown.

Their respective years are Harriett Smith (1790-1838) and Harriett Williams (1804-1899). If you'd like any other information/support I'd be happy to share further details.

Two Harrietts
Hi. I noticed some photos you took of a marker for Harriet SMITH Ford (and that you added to memorial 68911058 which you created) were also added to a memorial for Harriet WILLIAMS Ford (29025181). The fact that Stephen Baldwin Ford has two wives named Harriett has caused a bit of confusion. The marker is for Harriett SMITH Ford (68911058). I have been unable to locate a burial for Harriett WILLIAMS Ford (SBF's second wife). I thought you would want to know. Thanks for all you have contributed to findagrave.
