Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've enjoyed working on my family genealogy and helping others with their research for many years. I am a member of several genealogy organizations and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
It's important to preserve the family history provided to us by cemeteries. Besides looking for my own family names, I also like to record military graves and the older headstones before they are no longer readable.

Lyman at St Mary of the Snow
Hello Marte,

Thank you for all the work you've done here!

I'm looking for records related to a brother of my ggf, Thomas Lynam/Lyman & wife Julia (Moran), their oldest child known to me said to have been born at Glasco in Feb 1872. They were devout Catholics and it seems they would have been attending St. Mary's.

The one Lyman entry for this cemetery here on Find-a-Grave, for "Death: Nov., 1883; Son of Thomas Lyman. Age 23." is a person who is too old to be part of the immediate family.

I'm trying to decide if there is a point to looking for a sexton's register or similar records for this cemetery. From the data in your entries here, my guess is that you were working from a written record, maybe a register? Do you think it's fair to say that all the interments in this cemetery are listed here in Find- already?

thank you,

Thank you for all the work you do on this website! Also I hope my edits aren't spamming your inbox. Would be nice if they could condense them into one message, huh? Anyway I hope you're having a spectacular day!

Morton Photo
Thank you for the pictures of the Morton memorial. I didn't realize it was the same as the Loomis and Nichols memorials. William Hayward Morton & Theresa Maria Waite Morton are the parents of Sarah Theresa Morton Loomis, wife of Charles Webster Loomis, and also the parents of Henrietta M. Morton Nichols, wife of Henry O. Nichols. I am now curious to know who is on the remaining side of the memorial.

Marte - great! Thanks for confirmation, in that this now provides Edith's death date for the family genealogical record that I'm trying to advance.[].

Thanks !! Jeff

Yes, somewhat remotely. My Smith line includes a lot of Greene County shirt tail relatives.

John Townsend Lansing

I have been a great deal of family research on Find A Grave.

I noted that you have 7/13/1863 listed as the date of birth of John Townsend Lansing. I believe it is actually 7/13/43.

Just a thought,

Anthony J Prest
