Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've enjoyed working on my family tree and helping others with their research for many years. I am a member of several genealogy organizations and the DAR. It's important to preserve the family history provided to us by cemeteries. Besides looking for my own family names, I also like to record military graves and the older headstones before they are no longer readable.

Gravestone Photo Permission
I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of William Alvord in Albany Rural Cemetery (Memorial# 50914044).

I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of New York Obituaries, where his obituary is (or will be) included. You can see the current collection at

May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, the photo caption will say:

Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—
Permission granted by the photographer, Martje [or your full name if you prefer]

And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Best regards,
Pamela Alford Thompson (Find A Grave #47195155)

Email address?
Someone with knowledge of a grave you photographed has sent me some details that I thought you might want to include in the captions. If you write to me with your email address I'll forward them to you.

It is very likely that they are brothers but I am not certain. If I get some time I will look into it. If you find and thing let me know also.

Mount Hope - Warner
Hi Marte! You took a photo for Julia Warner, one of my ancestors. I'm trying to determine if any of her siblings are buried at the same cemetery. Do you know where I could write or call to find out if someone is buried there? Any help you can offer is much appreciated as I can't seem to determine where most of the family is buried.
