Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been doing genealogy for more years than I care to remember and all of my family knows that it has become an obsession. I love doing the research and finding new relatives. But I am not just a name collector I like to know if the person is related even if it is only distantly. My niece Jan Bean is helping me to add family members to this website. I really appreciate all of her help and support. I have added memorials that are not related and I am happy to do transfers of memorials that are not part of my family. PLEASE DO NOT ADD EXTRA HEADSTONE PHOTOS OR PHOTOS OF CERTIFICATES to my memorials, this leaves room for photos of the deceased within the five-photo limit on unsponsored memorials.

My first cousin's daughter married a young man, whose mother is a Leeper (maiden name). Her branch was from TN and physicians for generations. I don't know if they connect to your Maggie or not.

RE: Add photo to memorial
It was just easier to put the information with the photos as a caption than to get members to add it to bio section.

RE: Add photo to memorial
Two years ago I was given some old DAR magazines dating 1971 to 1983. No one wanted them for archives. Since I really hated the idea of throwing all those old formal photos of DAR ladies in the trash, I posted them one at a time on Find A Grave. First, the lady's grave site had to be on Find A Grave; if not, I couldn't use the photo. Since the ladies of this era mainly used their husband's names, it was not easy to locate who was who. I loved it when there was the NSDAR Insignia on the grave marker or DAR mentioned in a posted obit or bio! So far I have gotten positive responses from grown grandchildren and other family members. If I get a negative one, I will just use the delete photo button and move on.

Click on the photo so you can read the caption.

Merry Christmas.

Carl Henry Foust
Yes. Carl is my 3rd cousin twice removed. Of course I never knew him. A few months ago, I found out my X3 great grandmother's maiden name was Foust. Since then, my DNA has matched up with numerous members of the Fouts/Foutz/Fautz/Pfautz family. The original spelling was Pfautz when they landed in Pennsylvania from Germany. They were strict Lutherans, but one branch of the family joined the Quakers. The Fouts were movers. Some migrated to the Carolinas and then started moving westward. As soon as the government opened new lands, a Foust was there to stake a claim; stay a while; sell; and move on to stake claims in newer areas....always leaving some family members behind. If gold or silver was discovered, a Fouts was there. Large numbers of Fouts are in Illinois and Indiana. My X3 great grandmother Lucinda Fouts met and married Jason Ashworth in North Caroline. Jason and Lucinda traveled with members of the Fouts family to Illinois and then to Missouri where they stayed. Other Fouts joined with other families, including my Fisher ancestors, and set out for new land stakes in Oregon. The Fouts are listed in the archives as some of the earliest settlers. Yep, they survived the Oregon Trail. Carl Henry is descended from those Fouts. Once they settled Oregon, some family members set out for free land in Idaho, Montana, and South Dakota with a few ending up in Colorado. My DNA matches me to the Fouts and Fishers who went to Oregon, so if Carl were still around, we would have a DNA match. So in ending, I'll say, "Hello, cousin."

RE: Headstone Photo
If you have any more in this area, just let me know. For some reason I no longer get e-mail request from Find A Grave. I cover Moore, Harnett, And Lee counties. Gives me a chance to ride my Bike and help someone at the same time.
