Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

Is Tennie White a relative of yours? If so, I will gladly transfer my memorial for her to you. I really don't want to lose the picture of Tennie.

Regarding the Huffar [??] relationship to Harriet Claybrook.
Louisa Belle Huffar is the sister, not the parent of Harriet Claybrook. They are both children of William M. and Nancy Hannah Bates.
Also buried at Bear Creek is a
brother Jesse Thomas Bates [my great grandfather] and another sister Lydia Frye.
Again I thank you for your photos of my relatives Hannah and Mary Russell at the Dickson Cemetery. Really appreciate it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for the beautiful photos, they mean so much to me. That cemetery has lots of my family members. I was there many years ago (before all this digital stuff--never thought about photos)
Thank you so much for adding the grave photo for Harvey Lowe. My parents made the trip to that cemetery I few months ago but did not bother checking all the names on that stone. Thanks for the photo! ~ John
