Genealogy and family history are my life source, coming in second only to my living family and that of my husband, whose family I am also looking for. I enjoy the road trips in search of the footprints of my ancestors, walking where they walked, looking out the windows on a time long past and finding where they finally found their rest.|
Unlike some, I'm not looking to make a name for myself in the numbers competition. Personally, I feel that the speedier the memorials are done, the less love and care that is put into them, making them look sloppy. These people we are remembering deserve just as much respect and reverence today as they did when they were alive. Without them, there wouldn't be us. I do what I can to expand the memorials in my care, add photos where I have them in my possession, a bio to put meat on their bones and tie them to as many of their family members as possible. I try to be accurate as possible, but I will still make mistakes. Please be kind in correcting me. I will not make corrections if I feel they are not necessary and will add no living names to protect their privacy.
If you would like to use my photos on your Ancestry tree, or any other genealogical site, Please be respectful of the time and trouble I've taken to locate and upload the photos and give credit where credit is due, instead of claiming the credit for yourself....at least I'm not charging for ancestor images we both share. God will know and so will I.
I've recently been given the care of several memorials created by another contributor who has recently passed on, as well as some I've created in my local area. These are in my "DALE" virtual cemetery. If they are a part of your family, I would be happy to make a transfer. It's even okay if they are just a cousin. They all need to be cared for. Please don't ask for anyone in my virtual trees.
The families I am most interested in are:
Littell or Little
These are my husband's ancestors:
Swindele or Swindell
A note from my sister, who helps me in the hunt:
My name is Brenda. I am Jan's younger sister. I have enjoyed the numerous trips that Jan and I and my boys have gone on to find our ancestors burial spots. I feel like it's an adventure every time we start looking. We began with looking for our ancestors buried here in Provo, Utah and progressed from there looking for more that were within traveling distance. My boys love it when Aunt Jan calls us to tell us it's time for another road trip to find a cemetery. I am looking forward to helping other people located and photograph their acenters burial spots and headstones. I am usually available to search for a grave during the times that Jan is not available. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.

Hi Aunt Jan,
Thank you for the great photos of Sonja Breitenstein's gravestone in the Provo cemetery! I appreciate the care you took and the high resolution and quality of your photos. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the photo even though there was no marker. I always appreciate those photos to help complete the memorial. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

Can you explain how I can also separate Dale's transfers from mine that I manage? Someone else said they were doing this and I think this will be a good approach to organizing. Thanks for your kind words and or all YOU are doing as well!

I am thrilled to report I am down to 950 memorials from 2800! Your willingness to foster has only made this possible. I apologize for the slow sending as I am reading each one that has biographies. Amazing work Dale did! Again thanks so much for stepping up to help out. I'm into the "M" surnames now so there are more on the way! Have a great weekend. Jen

Nice to meet you to Janalou! Thank you for the transfers - I'll be glad to handle them.

Hi Aunt Jan! I'm related by way of the Watts. Mary Carter Kimbrell was the daughter of Caroline Malinda Watts Carter, sister to my 2nd great grandfather Columbus Watts. I received a lot of Carter information, etc. from cousin Jan Carpenter. We are great buds on Facebook!!

The two sets of conflicting data on the Elizabeth Claypoole Pettyjohn's page might be more easily corrected simply by removing what you have from the current memorial and adding a second memorial page of your own containing your information with all the family relationships and their links, if you have any.
