Hello Find A Grave members: PLEASE READ!|
Please do not add names to Oakwood Cemetery in Farmington, Oakland, Michigan. As the data manager for Oakwood, I have been asked to monitor that cemetery for the Library, genealogical society and the city. I have spent two years, and several thousand hours, researching the people buried in Oakwood. I have been to the cemetery 33 times and taken almost 2000 pictures.
There are at least a dozen people who are listed on grave monuments in Oakwood who aren't actually buried there. The cemetery has been completely photographed and we know who is buried there. We are adding recently burials as they occur, so that we can keep our master list current.
PLEASE don't add names to Oakwood Cemetery in Farmington. The library system is directing their researchers to Find A Grave for their research and we want the information to be accurate. We have a master list for the cemetery, birth, marriage and death records, and census data. We are still correcting lot numbers and some other data that we have discovered is incorrect. Many of the city records are NOT correct.
Thank you for your cooperation.
I have learned a very valuable lesson from this project. You can't just walk through a cemetery, take a picture of a grave monument and assume that the person is buried there. It must be researched!

|Twist||RE: Robert Waldie Oakwood Cemetery Farmignton|
After I received your note, I researched the issue you raised. The National Cemetery Administration of the US Dept of Veteran Affairs states funeral arrangements were handled by Thayer Rock and the burial of Robert Waldie (1915-1996) took place at Oakwood Cemetery in Farmington, MI. Hope this helps.

Chris, I can't thank you enough for all the work you are doing for find a grave and Farmington. I have been searching for where my Grandmother and Grandfather Barnard M Edwards were buried for a long time now and finally found them because of you. Thank you so much for all you do! Pam

|Neva Adams||Seth Walker & Wife Eunice GRAVES|
Chris, through yDNA and documented sources the line of Seth & Eunice continues through their son Solomon Walker and wife Leah Boyden. There are no other known children at this time. I'd be happy to prove their correct line to you. Also through yDNA it has been proven that Capt. Samuel Walker and Richard Walker are not related. My e-mail is email@example.com
Thank you! Looking forward to hearing from you.

Chris, I originally entered his burial as unknown. I got the cemetery information from an edit. Who entered the edit, I am not sure, but it might be Wendy Renta as she linked him to his wife. Since I did not link them, she had to link them unless his wife's memorial was transferred to her from someone else. Please let me know if I should move him from the cemetery and list his gravesite unknown.
