RE: Gladys Faye Waldman
Sorry to be so blunt, but there's no way this "information was checked". It is incorrect!

You are kidding right? Do I believe it is in error? Duh! I am a friend of the family for 50 years? All you had to do was read Faye's obit. It says Edward not Elmer!

Hi me again. I guess your entry for Find A Grave Memorial# 149639742 (Elmer J Waldman) is where the error is. The name should be Edward J Waldman. He was Gladys Faye's husband. Again I knew the family very very well...

Hi your Find a Grave entry for Gladys Faye Waldman incorrectly identifies her husband as Elmer. His name was Edward. I know the family well....

RE: Helen Merrell
The person from Union Cemetery deleted her duplicates after I told her about the same memorials in Evergreen Cemetery. Their son is buried in Union Cemetery and that person must have assumed the parents were also. I believe your memorials are in the correct cemetery. You can read her note to me on my messsages page. Thank you, Jill MacRae 47010526

Mildred Holbrook Harrison.
Find A Grave Memorial# 117238674. It appears you have done extensive research on this family. I was wondering if you have more info on his daughter Mildred Holbrook Harrison, she is linked on his profile. Particularly her husband Ernest Harrison. He is my ancestors & was an orphan so tracking him has been extremely hard. Do you if the married in Ohio? I can't find a marriage cert of them. Do you know what moved her to Florida? She was the only family member I can find that left Ohio. I know this is a shot in the dark but I thought I would try. Thanks for your time.

Nellie Sheridan Wilson
Hello again, Skye!

You're welcome to use it, but please correct this typo in line about Nellie keeping her position:
I'd meant to write "retain" with a t, not "remain" with an m.

Best regards,

Nellie Sheridan Wilson
Greetings, skye!

You may want to check out the Somerset, Ohio, news articles and website re: Nellie, who was an extraordinary woman. Said to have been Gen. Phil Sheridan's favorite niece, she defied convention to become Somerset, Ohio's first female postmaster in 1889, at the age of 19. At that time, women could only hold "male" positions as long as they remained unmarried. This double-standard proved problematic when Nellie and Thomas Charles Wilson fell in love a decade later. Wilson, a wealthy, Harvard-educated local merchant, respected Nellie's desire to remain her position, and the couple did not marry until 1913, when he was literally on his deathbed, suffering from Bright's disease. He died on their wedding night, and the widowed Nellie had to fight to recover her job. The couple were of different faiths (Nellie was Catholic and her husband a Methodist) which may account for their not being interred together.

Best regards,

Correct Mother's Name

George Sheldon Jones, Sr (Memorial # 64125731)
was my 2nd great grandfather.

His mother's maiden name was Adah Harmon. The indexer could not read the writing. His father's name was Barnabas Jones. They are buried in the Ray's Corner Cemetery, Lenox, Ashtabula, Ohio.

I would like to take care of this and other linked graves, if you will allow me to do that.

Best Regards,

Perk (
