I am 69 years old. At the age of 52 I became interested in family history because of my husband's daughter. She wanted some information about her family. Others had promised information but did not come thru with it so I told her I would help her. It was so much fun I have continued with my research. I am always happy to help in the search and photo taking of a monument. I have been helped many times in the past and hope to help others in the future. One outstanding person in Camden, Missouri, Janice Pennington, who is now my dear friend, is the main reason I became interested in Find A Grave. Through Genforum I requested one picture of a monument in a cemetery fairly close to her area. She saw my request, contacted me and told me she would get the picture for me. Not only did she get that picture but she sent me over 50 other pictures of my ancestors graves in the same cemetery. Because of her and also her husband Larry, I wanted to help others find graves of their families and take photo's of the headstones. That is when I found Find A Grave. Talk about getting your prayers answered, I did. Another lady, Roberta, who lives in Indiana, went to Kentucky and took over 70 pictures for me at 4 different cemeteries of my ancestors graves. The gratitude I have for these people makes me want to grab every photo request I can to help others. |
If I can make a correction or add information to a memorial page, please let me know. If you would like to have one of my memorial pages transferred to you, (if they are not a member of my family), please let me know and I will do it. Please go thru the proper channels for any changes or transfers of a memorial page.

Dear Joyce! I will ask Jason about photos and/or a few stories the next time I speak with him. We usually are in touch at least once each week or so by phone and/or email. Did you know that George's son Buddy (Charles) also began raising ostriches at his horse ranch? Yep. It was so much fun to see the little fuzzy ones and try to keep my nipples away from the beaks of the big ones! heh. What a hoot! I know Buddy's ostriches came from the same bloodlines as the ostriches on the farm which belonged to the retired (and famous) rodeo clown, Rooster Cogburn. He had a big ostrich ranch at Pichacho Peak (between Tucson and Casa Grande) in Arizona. Buddy and Sonny are such talented and kind men, I often watched them build custom homes from start to finish. ~ Bridey Light
Dear Joyce: What a sweet message you left for me regarding George Prince, Sr. about his good deeds and his loving wife Betty. I never had the opportunity to meet Buddy and Sonny's Dad, but given their kind natures, it is easy to understand that their father was also kind. I will ask Jason if he has any photographs or special memories of his grandfather George to add to his memorial and get back to you if so. Kind regards, Bridey Light
