Sometimes God picks the flower
That is still in bloom
Sometimes the rosebud's chosen
That we feel He's picked too soon
Sometimes the flower is fading
With petals floating down
But God knows the perfect time
To gather flowers from the ground
There is a heavenly garden
In which God takes great pleasure
Because He's placed within it
The loved ones that we treasure
He walks among the blossoms
Giving them eternal rest
And I know that it must please him
Because He chose our very best.

Used by permission. The perfect time for Otis to pass from this life came November 4, 2010.

RE: William, Tabitha Birt, Liberty

Thank you for this information, it did help. The Tabitha Birt I was looking for (and found) was the granddaughter of the William Birt and Tabitha Hobbs mentioned in your message, but I didn't know that until I received your message!

Thanks, again.

Wayne, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. I remember you telling me she would sit in the shade while you went to the cemetaries. No doubt this had been a hard year for you.
I'm glad that you have found what I consider to be a gold mine over at the college. I've been able to get several obituaries on relatives from there that were in the Athens paper.
By the way, I saw in your messages that you or someone else were looking for the grave of Tabitha Birt. I believe she is the same one in my family tree that was married to William Birt. Tabitha was the half sister of Lewis Harrison Hobbs and when their father died, he was appointed guardian to Tabitha and several other siblings. They came from Alabama. I can't lay my hands on this particular source but their son, James J Birt, was living with Lewis and his family in 1870. From what I remember reading, Tabitha may have been killed in an Indian attack in Burleson County. Lewis gave each of his own children 100 acres and also gave 100 acres to James. I think this might be in one of the biographical books at the Van Zandt Co. Genealogical Society.
Maybe this helps. Keep in touch.

Wayne, uncle George was my mother's youngest brother and one of my favorite uncles. It truly is a small world.

Thank you so much for the information on Susana Tidmore. I have added it with credit to you (via use of your contributor #). The Tidmores are such a large family, it's really difficult to get as much accurate data as I'd like, so all assistance is much appreciated.

RE: William Armstrong, New York

It may have been me that gave you the links originally. When I tried find out more info on William and his wife, I discovered he had different parents than what I told you. Thanx for making the disconnect.

RE: Vinnie Brantley photo
Ann Hardage Brantley is my 2nd Grandmother. Her daughter, Francis Rebecca Brantley married Doctor Kelly Thomas. They are my great grandparents.

Madden Cemetery is very near the Carolina Cemetery. They both border Neshoba and Leake County lines. The Madden Cemetery is in Leake County. There are other cemeteries nearby, as well. I need to do some more searching.

So, I guess, your wife is a cousin. And sorry for your loss. She would be proud of your continued interest in her family.
