If I list someone you are related to, send me a note using the "EDIT tab," and I will transfer the page to you if I am not also a descendant. I will always follow Find A Grave guidelines and transfer within the generations stated. I usually go beyond this and will transfer older generations, if I am not also a descendant. However, if I have already completed extensive research on the person in question, by adding links, a biography etc, there is no need for a transfer. I myself use the great Find A Grave feature: Virtual Cemeteries. This is a wonderful way to keep track of family graves managed by others. |
I am happy to add additional sourced information to memorials and also happy to correct any errors I may have made. Please use the EDIT tab for corrections if you find an error in my research or if you wish to add information [I will give you credit by linking your profile page from the added info in the bio].
When you use the EDIT tab I am sent an email with a link to the memorial. This prevents confusion about which memorial is referenced.
Here is a great website for calculating the birth date from stones that list only death date and age at death. Or try this one.
THIS IS A CEMETERY
Lives are commemorated, deaths are recorded, families are reunited, memories are made tangible and love is undisguised. This is a cemetery.
Communities accord respect, families bestow reverence, historians seek information and our heritage is thereby enriched.
Testimonies of devotion, pride and remembrance are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life; not death, of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for family memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
A cemetery is a history of people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today. A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering, always.

|Mark Sandell||Elise Sieman Lincoln|
I find messages that I have contacted you before with additional info on Lincoln's. However I do not find that I asked if you were related to Elise Sieman Lincoln of North Platte Memorial # 36128753. I am related through my mother to the Lincoln side.
If you are related, I have some questions I would like to ask about the John DW Lincoln family. If you prefer you may contact me at email@example.com

Sorry. I don't really know what I am doing with this website. Can you tell me how to remove the photo?
Thanks, Shari, I have removed that 1715 birth date - I really don't know where I got it---

No problem! We all get mixed up from time to time. Perfect is highly overrated.

In answer to your suggestion below regarding where I found the records to support his mother's name. I found the supporting record on Ancestry, as follows:
Reference: The Empire State Society of the National Society
Sons of the American Revolution.
Application for Membership of
Charles Lynn ROWLEY
Dated 08 Feb 1940
Descendant of Uriah CARPENTER (1741-1821)
and his 1st wife Nancy LOOMIS
Charles' Reference: "A Genealogical History of the Rehoboth Branch of the Carpenter Family" by Amos B. Carpenter, published by Press of Carpenter & Morehouse, Amherst, Mass., 1898.
Following was your suggestion dated 14 Sep 2014:
In the bio you state Frederick was the son of Uriah Carpenter and Nancy (Loomis). I would like to know where you found the records to support his mother's name? In the Connecticut Town Marriage Records, pre-1870 (Barbour Collection) there is a record for Uriah Carpenter Jr's marriage to Lucy Wyman on 5 Dec 1759 in Union (Tolland County) Connecticut. Lucy Wyman is also the mother of Frederick listed in the Daughters of the American Revolution's GRS index. I have seen a few trees on Ancestry.com giving Nancy Loomis as Frederick's mother without any supporting documentation. Do you have a record for Uriah's marriage to Nancy Loomis?

Thank you for your very good summary and excellent citations. Henry Cobb is a direct ancestor of mine through his daughter Patience Cobb, who married Robert Parker. The Parkers are my patrilineal line down to my father. There is a newer (since the Great Migration summary by Anderson) 2008 book on Henry Cobb that genealogist Susan E. Roser has published. She has worked a lot with the Mayflower Society and is highly regarded. "Early Descendants of Henry Cobb of Barnstable, Massachusetts." However, I don't know if the information on Henry Cobb is different than Anderson's though it may be more thorough. www.friendsofthepilgrims.com

I wanted to thank you for helping me kick off my time with Find A Grave. You started by adding on my grandparents and others at the Cedar Bluffs cemetery. Since then, I've been able to add on to that base. Keep up the good work and thanks again. Have a great week! :)

I have a Baptist date of 15 Feb 1747 at the Smithfield Reformed Dutch Church, Northampton Co., PA. This would be before the birth date given?
