Transfer of Management
Hello Dori and Ed- hope this finds you well.

would like to request a transfer of management for the Memorial of Charles L. Appleby (Find A Grave Memorial# 144632181). He is my 3x Great Grandfather and I am trying to build as extensive a family web as I can on here. If not, I have a decent amount of biographical information to add.

Sincerely,

Rachel Waugh

RE: John David Fahnestock 137431327
I understand, My Aunt just died in Dec 2015, and before me, she was the family historian, and thanks to boxes & boxes of "stuff", now I can put a face to a name many times over. Isn't it wonderful to be able to put that face with that name? :-)

Stocker connections
Hi Dori & Ed: It really bothers me that the 1856 Linn Co IA census lists Julianna (Stocker) Cook (sister of Josiah Stocker) and husband William Cook, but the listing is right beside the listing for the HAHN family, including Eliz. Heller, the mother of Sophia Hahn. There definitely IS some connection between these families – because the 1870 census lists “Ida Jane Buss” with the Hahns. No explanation of relationship. On the marriage record, Ida Jane Buss (Stocker?) married Winfield Scott Wallick – but why doesn’t it say her maiden name is Stocker?? Do you know? It's making me a little crazy!!
OK - gotta go do stuff and stop playing hooky...

Josiah Stocker
Death
18 Sep 1914 • Lisbon Linn County Iowa, USA
Find A Grave Memorial# 70993426 -- NOTE:Josiah's dau. Sarah Jane is buried to the right of Josiah, his 2nd wife Louisa is buried on left. His sister, Julianna Stocker Cook, is buried nearby.
This is another reason that I think the Civil War Josiah Stocker is not the right husband for Sarah, and father of Menorva & Sarah Jane. Sarah Jane came to Iowa with Josiah and Louisa.
I have a genealogy friend/cousin who is looking at Josiah Stocker now; she and I have worked many times on difficult researches.

Stocker
Hello Dori & Ed: I rec'd your msg about Sarah Stocker's memorial; I requested that photograph and one for Menorva.... The problem is that there are too many Josiah Stockers from Pennsylvania, and there are more Sarahs also. I rec'd info today from Linn County IA with obituary for Josiah Stocker who died 1914, whom I tried to tell you about previously. This is the Josiah Stocker on the 1860 census, born 1825, age 35; married first to Sarah and 2nd to Louisa Marsh. I have a death certificate for their daughter Ida Jane Stocker Wallick, who was my husband's gr-gr-aunt.

I still do not know how to straighten out the info that I have found in records. My home Email - churchconnie@gmail.com
Thanks for keeping in touch.
Merry Christmas!
