|smespedal||John Sheldon Ranney|
I am currently writing a genealogy of the Ranney family and came across your photograph in the findagrave.com site for John Sheldon Ranney who was married to Olive (Waters). I would like to use the photograph of their monument in the book I'm working on. I would be happy to credit you with the photograph in the sources section. Please let me know if this is acceptable. Thank you, Sharleen Thomas Espedal

No, sorry, I did not. It had already sold by the time I found it...probably for much more than I could afford.
Located the site for Lenore Glass and buried with her was John Glass and Jane Downer. I posted photo for Lenore, Made a page for John and posted photo, then posted photo for Jane Downer. If you would like John Glass transferred to you let me know. Will be happy to do it. Linda

I have some questions on the data you've entered for this person.
My records indicate that she was born and died in Machias, Washington County, Maine. Sadly, I recorded this over 30 years ago, so I can't remember where I got that from.
Do you have an obituary on her? Can you get one relatively easily on her and post it on Find A Grave? Do you have her death record - is that where you are getting the data you posted?
I live in Michigan and will not be going to Maine for a long time. Many years ago, I traveled to Maine and did extensive genealogy, but will not be able to do that anymore.
Many thanks for your help in clearing this up for me.
|Gary Burgess||mixed up two "David Barclay" in New York|
I have some informations about "David Barclay" in New York.
I am the widow of Bruce Downer and he and I were a team with Familytresearch. I have not been doing genealogy much for the past two years due to his passing. However, I am just seeing all the messages posted here.
I will be happy to work with those of you who are saying that we put inacurate information on there, but I can assure you that we are methodically detailed researchers and genealogists and only posted pictures of cemeteries that we walked and transcribed and photographed.
I am unhappy and unprofessional way that some of you have indicated that there are errors. Again, I will be happy to work with you and Find A Grave to fix this issues. Please email me privately instead of posting those types of messages on our pages. The only reason I did not post as Familytresearch is because I changed internet providers and no longer can access that account - pending my working with Find a Grave.
Thanks again and remember this is a labor of love for all of us, not a competition.

What is your policy on others using your photos on ancestry.com family trees? I have come across several that I would like to use, but I want to be sure that it is okay with you. Thanks for your consideration. Gwen
|Sue Downhill||Bruce Downer Obituary|
Bruce Rexton Downer left this earth on December 26, 2011.
KC and John will be notifying Find A Grave of the passing of this graver.
I will also ask them to work with us on correcting the wrong entries. KC if you have a list of the incorrect postings you might post it here as I am sending Find A Grave a link to this message.
I am thankful that KC actually walked the cemetery and can vouch for the correct cemetery.
