I am taking pictures of headstones mostly at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. Find A Grave has been so helpful in tracing my roots and I hope my pictures may help someone else. I have no problem with use of my pictures for your family trees.

To find out more information on your Polk County relatives, especially marriages, I would suggest the Polk County Historical & Genealogical Library at

RE: Harry Edward Miller
Yes he was taken by a relative but I didn't find that fact out until I researched records on this year. My GG grandmother had divorced Harry's father in Georgia because of abuse and she came to Texas to a friend' s to get away. She had rented a house in Ft Worth when Harry disappeared. My GG grandmother never knew if it was a stranger or part of her Ex's family who took him. Census records show that Harry's father took him, moved to Johnson City, Washington Cty, Tenn, moved in with his own mother and listed himself as "widower" on all records. I never found Harry's date of death and burial place until today when I found your photograph.

Harry Edward Miller
Thank you so much for this photo. It solved the mystery of what happened to a 3 yr old little boy Harry E Miller who was kidnapped from his front yard on Morton St. In Ft. Worth Tx. His mother was Annie Miller my GG Grandmother who searched for him her whole life and cried out for him on her deathbed in 1953. I am happy to have found him by tracing his life through Ancestry and ending here with your photo. Only wish is that I could have found him before he died to tell him about his wonderful mom and his brother and sister and descendants. Thank you thank you,

If it is of interest to you, I know this gentleman's brother. He is Thomas Gene Ready, born in 1942 and still living in Lakeland, FL.

Could you tell me please where in the Lakeland Memorial Gardens I can find his grave? You posted a picture in here: --- I am looking for the grave of my great aunt Joanna Pories (died 1966), who is supposed be buried next to him, her late husband. - I am travelling to the U.S. from Vienna, Austria, tomorrow and I'm planning to go to Lakeland next weekend to visit my ancestors grave. I would be greatful if you could help me to find it. Thank you!
