Clover "Toby" Holmes
Hi again Sharon:
I have been sitting here researching on ancestry.com since I sent you the previous e-mail and I have found lots of info. I have found that Toby was married to a Wade G. Woods or Wood not sure which is correct before Thomas Van Holmes. I already knew she worked as an orange packer in CA. Thomas's family owned an orange grove/ranch. I wonder if she worked for him and that's how they met? I also found her parents names and that she also had siblings named (Your grandma Geneva Dorothy Barth) also Wayne Blevin, Della Doris, Joseph Wallace and Grover Cleveland Edmondson Jr. I found all this info in some FEd. U.S. Census's and other people's tree's on ancestry.com a couple of the tree's owners names were Barth & Edmondson so I am assuming their info their tree's is correct.I have incoporated this info into my tree and I will do my best to verify/research that their info is correct. I though you might like to know what I had found so far since you only have 1 sibling for Toby on her memorial page. Let me know what you think, ok
Thanks,
Tootz
Should we be communicating through private e-mails at this point??

RE: Clover
Hi Sharon: Yes I am distantly related to Toby's husband Thomas Van Holmes, so we in turn are distant relatives. Yes I am interested in any/all info you have on Toby's family. I am one of those people who wants to include everyone in my tree. Now I know I have Edmondson's in my tree, how exciting. I love doing genealogy research and watching my tree grow. I also work very hard to verify as much of the info in my tree as possible. Are you a subscriber to ancestry.com? Do you have a family tree on ancestry.com that I could look at? I do. Did Toby and Thomas have any children? Yikes, my questions could go on and on. I look forward to sharing info with you.

RE: Memorial# 30895663
Sharon,

You had the same idea as I regarding the photo request. Do your Lida's dates match? Bible entries for Anna Lida Potts are b. April 6th AD 1866, d. Feb 12, 1889. The deaths entry is actually "Lida A. Sharpe wife of Wm. A. Sharpe Died-Feb-12-1889". The marriages entry is "Willie A. Sharpe and Lida Potts were married November 18, 1884".

I have another Potts/Sharp puzzle I'm trying to solve. Using FamilySearch, I located a 1 Nov 1877 Bath County marriage between Wm. R. Potts and Ann Eliza Sharp. I'm guessing Wm. R. is Lida Potts father; my Great grandfather. This would have been 2 1/2 years after death of his first wife. You wouldn't know anything about that would you? Just thought I'd ask.

Bruce

Memorial# 30895663
Hello Sharon,

I sent you an email a few days ago and haven't heard back from you, so it probably went to your spam. Anyway, as you requested a photo for Memorial# 30895663, I thought you might know something about the person, Lida A Sharp 1866-1889. I believe her to be Anna Lida Potts who married William A Sharp 18 Nov 1884. Would you happen to know if this is her and anything else about her? What information I have, birth, marriage, death, comes from her father's Bible.

Clover "Toby" Holmes #100548692
Hi Sharon:
I am researching some distant relatives and I think this Toby may have been married to Thomas Van Holmes #100548574, he is not linked to Toby either. I have several city directories showing them married to each other from around 1948 to 1970 in the Monrovia,Duarte,CA area. I have not been able to find a marriage certificate on them yet. City directories in same area have him married to an Irma in 1931-32 and I can't find a marriage or divorce cert. for that one either. They lived with his mom Carrie and his sister Julia for several years and he and his mom and sister owned and operated an orange grove/ranch. He was also the Post Master for Duarte, CA for about 33 yea and that's not mentioned on his memorial page either, I guess I should e-mail this Kate person who created his memorial page as well. I am hoping your's is the right Toby, then I have her maiden name and parents names from the memorial you created which helps a lot when your researching. Let me know what you think, ok? Also can you tell me are there more Holmes buried at Live Oak and are Thomas and Toby buried next to each other? I have just recently found lots of family members connecting the Holmes, the Stocks and now hopefully the Edmonson's too (are there Edmonson's buried at Live Oak too?). I look forward to hearing from you.
