Bio and Links
Bio Photo I grew up in Waverly, Iowa & moved with my family down to Leavenworth, Kansas in 1993.

I am a May 2008 graduate of Kansas State University and was actively involved with the marching band. I'm a huge fan of Kansas State football and hold season tickets.

One of my biggest interests is in Genealogy and I absolutely love History so its a perfect pairing. I'm fascinated with family histories.

Family names I'm interested in:
Bergman (in IA)
Brandt/Lampe (in IA)
Halweg/Friedrich (in IA)
Tjebkes (in IA)
Stelzer (in IA and MN)
Bohner (in IA and PA)
As for the photos I take for Find A Grave, if you would like me to transfer any memorials to you I would be more than happy to oblige as I am not interested in stacking up numbers for memorials managed. I think those that have that mindset are very rude people. The only memorials I will not transfer are those for my own family unless very distantly related. Also, if you would like a copy of the original photos posted to memorials please let me know as I am more than happy to send them to you.

I will sometimes photograph other plot markers near the graves where I am fulfilling photo requests. If they have no memorial I create one for them and attempt to give them a story based on what I find on If at any point you come across a memorial I've created for your ancestor and I have added information you DO NOT want on their memorial, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will gladly remove it. The same applies if there is something that you DO want added to their memorial. If I have included an obituary on any memorial page and you would like a clipping from the actual newspaper please let me know and I will accomodate. If I have added something you wish to be removed PLEASE BE NICE ABOUT IT when letting me know as I am not trying to upset anyone. I don't wish to be scolded like a child.

I was not sure where it was the cemetery or if there is another one close. He does not show up in findagrave name list but his daughter gave gave this information in a letter she was about 11 years old. If it can be found I would be very happy.

I just received information that a James Martin was buried there about 1861 or 1862, He had a masonic Lodge burial. The family lived there for about 4 years during the civil war, The information said his grave was in sight of the prison.

Thanks for the edit on Daniel Matter
Always nice to make connections for these long-gone folks, and from someone here in Kansas! My son was at the KState Band camp as a camper in 2007 and 2008 and had a lot of fun with that (though he went to college elsewhere). I have a special place in my heart for wind players. We still live near Manhattan.

Thanks much for the plot info. So glad you aren't letting the grumpies stop you from doing a great job. Things have changed greatly on findagrave over the years. Mostly for the better, I think, but nothing is ever perfect is it? :) Marji

RE: Woodson @ Mt Muncie Thomas K. Foster
Thanks, Shannon. I looked on Genealogy Bank this morning for the obit for Thomas K. Foster, but it was not listed on that site. I will check out the The Leavenworth Times.
Thanks for adding his first wife, Jane E to the memorial!
