|Rambling Granny||RE: George Sneed|
I knew Mr George. He lived up the road from us when I was about 5. We spent many hours playing at his house with his granddaughters. He was a very sweet and kind man. Missed him when we moved to the other side of town.

I thought I had found Julia (Dye) WADE COOK in the 1920 census of New Mexico with her daughter Lucy. That record lists her as divorced???
Thank you so much for your response.
Do you know where Julia A (Buckles) COOK is buried? She is the only one of her siblings not linked to her parents on Find A Grave.
|Anonymous||RE: Bio info of John Grittman error|
Ed, thank you so much for your willingness to correct this. I have the following: Ship's listing of 1852 father of John Grittman (Johann Peter Jacob Grittman), single, coming to America with 2 sisters. 1853 father homesteaded land in Monroe County, IL. Married & widowed 1853-1858 Monroe County - I have picture of he & 1st wife with infants John & sister Julia; copy of 2nd mg. of father 1858 Monroe County, IL, 1860 IL census (John born 1854), 1870 KS census (John born 1855) in father's home with IL birthplace & 1880 KS census (John born 1855) as head of household with wife Vincey and birthplace as IL. I'm happy to send copies of any/all if you want to send me your email address. Also, the tombstone gives year of birth as 1856 but the birthdate at the top of the findagrave page on him says date of birth Jan. 19, 1859, which is also an error. I have not seen his death certificate. Thank you so much, Janett Miller
|Anonymous||Bio info of John Grittman error|
John Grittman was not born on the Atlantic Ocean en route to America. His father Johann Peter Jacob Grittman was born in Germany and he and two of his sisters immigrated 11 April 1852 aboard the Fidelia from Liverpool to New York. Peter married ca 1853 in Monroe County, Illinois and had John and Julia Grittman. First wife and mother of John and Julia was said to be Mary who died in 1858, Monroe County. Peter remarried in 1858 to Anna Elizabeth Studt in Monroe County. They later moved near Glasco, KS.

Wow, good luck! There must be a bizzilion of them. Without any dates, you really are going to have to trust to luck! I hope you find him.
|B.J. Waters||Clarence Green photo request.|
Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request but unfortunately, it is a photo of the area, only. There is no marker. I put flowers where the marker would be, if there had been one. Also, according to the cemetery's online database, the dates for Clarence are 8/6/1910 - 12/14/1994.
Interesting thing is, there are two Clarence Greens buried there. The other one being Clarence Edward Green. I wondered if there might be a connection. But I went to his burial location and his grave is ALSO unmarked. This Clarence was interred on 3/8/1978; no other info on him on their database.
I'm sorry this was not a more positive outcome. I am always disappointed when there isn't a headstone.
Clarence is listed in 1910 as Clarence B Green and is with his mother and 3rd husband, William Alexander Fairchild.
In 1920 Elizabeth and William are in Los Angeles and now she has her daughter with her from her 2nd marriage, Leona Marie Green, who is listed as a Fairchild.
In 1930 Elizabeth is a widow living in LA, no children with her.
In 1940 she is with her 4th husband in LA.
Dewey Everts, brother of Clarence, searched for many years and was never able to find him.
