|Aaron J. Blake||Schultz|
Thanks for the obit for Johnny Schultz. I've added the info you sent to his memorial page.
Will try to get this straightened out. If you notice I didn't set these up. Management was turned over by another person. My Grandmother was also a Cease that is how I traced thgis branch to Kansas.
In my family tree it shows Geaorge A wifes name as Francis Hodgson Cease, In the Upchurch cemetery the marker also lists her as wife of George A. Could her nickname have been Fanny?
Let me know if there are other corrections to be made with the Kansas line.

On the duplicate.. Carolyn did not pass until 2015. The other memorial created for her was before she passed away, It was made in 2011!

|Trudy Davis||Sylvia (Clark) Kirk family|
Thank you Sue. This Clark family is in my Husband's lineage. I just wanted to verify that this was the same Sylvia (Clark) Kirk as the one I am researching. Are you related to this Clark family? If so, how. Do you happen to have any obituaries that you would be willing to share?
|Trudy Davis||Sylvia Helen (Clark) Kirk #87476711|
I am researching the Clark genealogy and one I have been researching is Sylvia Helen (Clark) Kirk, born in Daviess County (Washington) Indiana, 8Dec1895. I am wondering if you know Sylvia's parents names? The parents for my Sylvia Helen (Clark) Kirk are William J. and Flora (Buckley) Clark....Wm later married Sarah Williams. The birth date for my Sylvia is the same as the one posted for your Sylvia. Thank you. Trudy

Unfortunately, I have not yet found any documents confirming death in Jackson county. I'm going to decline the place of death edit for now, but will definitely keep looking for records on this, and will add place of death as soon as a record is located. Thanks for your help.

Rats! I thought I was on to something. He probably didn't die in California before 1997. I'm sure you already thought of it, but did you try the Social Security Death Index? Although that doesn't give you much information, it might tell you where he died and then it would be easier to get a death certificate.
I love a mystery. But I like happy endings better! Good luck, and if you think of it, once you find him, can you let me know, just to satisfy my own curiosity?

. . . I just noticed that there is a George M. Rankin on the Calif Death Index that lists his mother's maiden name as Hopkins. So we have a match, I believe. If this is the one you are looking for, he was born 1/15/1918 in Arkansas, and died 4/27/1986 in Riverside County, California. This should make it easier to get a death certificate.
There is a National Cemetery in Riverside, however I looked at the National Cemetery Grave Locator and did not see a listing for a George Rankin that has those dates. That doesn't mean he is not there, just not on that list. If you believe he may have served in the military, I suggest the first thing you might try doing is calling Riverside National Cemetery to see if he is there. You might get lucky!
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
|B.J. Waters||RE: Alice M Hopkin Rankin Messenger|
You're welcome, Sue. I wish I had info to give you about her son, George. He is definitely not buried next to her, or anywhere nearby. I checked for Messengers, Hopkins, and Rankins.
Do you know where George was born, or his middle name? There are many George Rankins listed on Rootsweb's California Death Index, which covers 1940 through 1997. If you take a look at that, and think that any of those might be him, it will at least give you an idea which County he died in. Armed with that info, I suggest you order a copy of his death certificate, which should have the "disposition of remains" (i.e., burial location).
There is a secure website called Vitalchek which is an excellent way to obtain an "informational copy" (non-certified) of a death certificate. I have used it many times. For Los Angeles County, I think I paid $27 and it was worth it.
Good luck! I hope you find him!
