I am relatively new in researching my ancestry, which I have found very interesting. In learning that process and getting more involved in it, I saw a great opportunity to help others by posting pictures here. |
I 'retired' early due to a disability that finally caught up to me. It ended my career; however, I still try to keep myself as busy and taking pictures is one of my new hobbies. I bought a new higher-end Nikon camera, GPS, multiple lenses, cleaning supplies and trimming tools to do the job.
My wife, Gloria helps me a lot with preparing the site for the photo(s). She's the best!
We go the extra mile when taking pictures by cleaning the headstone - from brushing off the dust to washing it with soap and water. I trim any grass that gets in the way and freshen up any flowers too. Since we're there, I take multiple pictures of every site, include family plot pictures, area pictures, close-ups of anything of interest, etc.
If you have any special requests for sites around my location, please contact me.

Hi, I think it is great that you and your wife are adding headstone pictures to graves. My question is, why do you add a picture of the stone when there is already a picture of the same stone on the memorial?

|RS Witwer||Greenwood Cemetery requests|
I've been working in Greenwood Cemetery recently. This cemetery has more than 60,000 gravesites, with only 28,000 entered into FindAGrave.com. In order to attempt to fulfill your requests for specific photographs, you need to get the plot location from the cemetery office. Without this critical information, it's almost impossible to find specific gravestones. I thought you should know the best way to actually get your requests fulfilled (if possible).
Good luck. Rhonda
|Raymond Sassman||RE: Thank you and a question|
Hi Don, I don't believe she is. My grandfather was Newton Uriah Sassman (He is here on findagrave.com with all 22 of his children) He is the only one in the generations of his family that dropped the a-original name is Sassaman.

I also added photos for her husband Ernest and the son William to their memorial pages.
I will add photos for Williams wife Ruth if you add a memorial page for her.
