A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Licking Riverside neighborhood of Covington, directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. My primary interest is recording the Grabinschriften of the German immigrants who settled throughout the Ohio River Valley. My favorite German connection is through my ninth-great-grandmother Marthe, Madame de Rocoulle (c.1655-1741) who was a Hofdame at the Berlin court of Friedrich Wilhelm von Preußen (1688-1740) and Sophia Dorothea von Hannover (1687-1757) and was the governess of their son Friedrich der Große (1712-1786), König von Preußen.|
One of my favorite genealogical finds has been locating the grave site in Norfolk, Virginia of my fourth-great-grandmother Sarah Ann Timberlake Woodfin (1809-1855), who was herself a fourth-great-granddaughter of Thomas Symes (c.1621-1670) and Amy Bridges (c.1624-1662), who were buried in the chancel of Saint Michael's Church at Winterbourne, in Gloucestershire, England.
