A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Licking River Historic District of Covington directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, and have spent much of my time on Find A Grave documenting the Grabinschriften of the German immigrants who settled in such large numbers throughout the Ohio River Valley. At this time I'm primarily researching the family of my great-grandmother Virginia Mahala Lindsey Whitesides. Her great-grandmother Sarah Ann Timberlake Woodfin (1809-1855) died during a yellow fever epidemic in Norfolk, Virginia and was a descendant of Thomas Symes (c.1621-1670) and his wife Amy Bridges Symes (c.1624-1662), who were buried in the chancel of St Michael's Church at Winterbourne in Gloucestershire, England. Many of her cousins, also descendants of the Virginia gentry, settled in Kentucky at an early date, and I've been fortunate to locate several of them in the area around my adopted home in Northern Kentucky, including Gen. James Taylor (1769-1848), Alice Thornton Taylor Berry (1773-1837), Ann Winston Hinde Southgate (1783-1833), and William Armistead Pendleton (1801-1845) at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, Maj. William Thornton Timberlake (1789-1857) at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, as well as William Hardia (1784-1865), Judith Woodson Mackoy Fisher (1795-1858), John S. Mackoy (1802-1882), and William Timberlake (1818-1870) at Linden Grove Cemetery in Covington.|
Some other finds that have become personal favorites include my 3rd-great-grandfather's brother William Garthright Lindsey (1832-1898) of Bristol, Tennessee, my 4th-great-grandfather's nephew Lieut. William Ludwell Sheppard (1833-1912) of Richmond, Virginia, and my 5th-great-grandmother's sister Elizabeth Smith Pendleton Lipscomb (1782-1862) of Athens, Tennessee.

You posted a picture of Mr. Deitchman to his Find A Grave profile at Surrett's Cemetery in Mississippi. This picture is him as a young man with a woman dressed as if she is a bride. I suspect this woman is his wife, Edna Lee McGaha, who is my dad's first cousin. Are you able to confirm that this lady is indeed Mr. Deitchman's wife? I met Deitchman when I was 14, so I'd really like to post this picture to my cousin's Ancestry profile. Thanks for any information you can give.

Thanks for creating this listing. I'll be adding some of my family buried there. I've just added a photo of the church, available from Wikipedia, put into public domain by the person who took the picture, Andrewrabbott-if the photo is accepted, I'll also add a credit for him.
|Vonderene||Armyn family - Lincolnshire|
Hello there, I have put a photograph on the memorials to the three people you added to St Peter's church in Lenton. The memorial was to the memory of several members of the Armyn family raised by William Armyn (one of the two you added, I believe). It is thought that the altar part (base) of the memorial was placed there first with a window above. The window was later filled in and covered by the upper part c1605. How's your Latin?!
Best wishes, Yvonne

For our Historical Society I work on a book about the emigrants from Gomaringen/Hinterweiler/Stockach, over 1200 people. A part of those emigrants I found at ancestry, but there are still missing a lot, especially the ladies.
Next year we are going to have an exhibition about "Emigrants from Gomaringen" and we are still searching more information about the emigrants and their descendants.
Some of those emigrants went to Pennsylvania, Kentucky (Louisville) and Ohio.
Perhaps we are able to help each other.
Please contact me at “burst(at)web.de”.
I would appreciate your help very much.
You are quite welcome. let me know if anyone has been missed.

I like your entry of Mother of God Church. I assumed that these two burials were entered incorrectly until I read your information. Keep up your great work.

|Ann||RE: Sara Florence Goddard Honaker|
Sarah Florence Goddard married Francis William Honaker.
My husband is descended from Francis William Honaker's sister Lula Thomas Honaker who married Aaron Calvin McCurdy.
I don't need transfer of management but it was nice of you to ask.
Yours in Kentucky
Ann (husband is from Stamping Ground, Ky)

|Max Fightmaster||RE: photo question|
Todd, thanks! I uploaded that photo. I wish I took more but was hustling through the area on my way to Florida. My primary mission that day was to find a cemetery referred to as the "Old Fightmaster Burial ground below Union Ridge". Does that ring a bell? I would have Thomas Fightmaster, Cynthia West, other Fightmasters. I did happen upon another unknown burial plot with 3 markers. I am in the process of trying to figure out how to add a new cemetery. I have the GPS coordinates also, will it give me an option to add that? thanks and feel free to redirect me if necessary. Next time I go back down I will try and take photos of the rest of Hudson Abbot cemetery.
