Bio and Links
Bio Photo A native of Louisville, Kentucky, I've lived since 1998 in the Licking River Historic District of Covington directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. I spend much of my time on Find A Grave documenting the Grabinschriften of the German immigrants who settled in such large numbers throughout the Ohio River Valley, especially the members of the Deutsche Pionier Verein. My favorite German connection is through my great-grandfather Henry Lloyd Rogers's ancestor Marthe, Madame de Rocoulle (c.1655-1741), who was a Hofdame at the Berlin court of Friedrich Wilhelm von Preußen (1688-1740) and Sophia Dorothea von Hannover (1687-1757) and was the governess of their son Friedrich der Große (1712-1786), König von Preußen.

Another interest is locating the burial sites of the scions of the Virginia gentry who also settled profusely in this region. My 4th-great-grandmother Sarah Ann Timberlake Woodfin (1809-1855), who died during a yellow fever epidemic in Norfolk, Virginia, was a descendant of Thomas Symes (c.1621-1670) and his wife Amy Bridges Symes (c.1624-1662), who were buried in the chancel of St. Michael's Church at Winterbourne in Gloucestershire, England. Through Sarah Ann and her husband's side of the family I have many relatives who were early pioneers in Northern Kentucky, including Gen. James Taylor (1769-1848), founder of Newport, Maj. Thornton Timberlake (1789-1857), treasurer of the Covington and Lexington Turnpike Road Company, and William Armistead Pendleton (1801-1845), first court clerk for Kenton County. Through this same branch of the family I have several cousins buried in Covington's Historic Linden Grove Cemetery, including William Hardia (1784-1865), William Wright Southgate (1800-1849), John Mackoy (1802-1882), and William Timberlake (1818-1870).

Hi,
I am researching James McCormick and I find one living with Nathan and his wife on the 1860 census. Just wondered if you know anything about this James McCormick.

Dear Todd,

Dear Todd,

In doing so unrelated historical research I ran across the obituary for subject person in the 16 Feb 1915 edition of the "Kentucky Post."

If, by chance, you want it let me know how I can get it to you.

Respectfully,
"Jim"

RE: Throckmorton's-Paris Cemetery
My sincere apologies for my requested action. I know better, but just didn't think. If you haven't transferred them yet, I suggest that I make a request to "merge" and/or "consolidate" my memorials with yours. One reason I wanted to keep my memorials was because of the family links. I have never requested a merge before. I assume if that's possible that my links and photo's would show up on your memorials. Can you walk me thru the merge process. Again, so sorry for my dumb actions. Thanks.

RE: Britton Wainright
Todd,
Sorry that I didn't respond in 2013. I wasn't using findagrave much, but recently I've been using it a lot. I would love to be responsible for Britton Wainright.

RE: Benjamin Netherland
You're very welcome, Todd. My 4x great-granddad settled in the Jessamine Co area right after his Rev War service and one of his sons died fighting Indians. I'm only too happy to try and shed some light on those events. Thank you for the add.

RE: Randle Holme and other 'Holmes' - ST Mary's Chester
Hello Todd.. thanks for your kind comments.
I have just added a photo of a memorial to Rowland Waringen who you also have listed (as Waring).
I have been working on records created against what appears to be a duplicated cemetery entry (St Mary's centre) rather than the correct one that you have created in its original name of St Mary's on the Hill. I don't know if there a way of combining those on the incorrect page with yours? Perhaps you might know ??
Regards
Mike
