Ancestors & relatives never really go away, they get buried, cremated or vaulted in a sacred place for us to visit and remember. After all, where would we be without our ancestors? As much as it hurts to lose a loved one, we must be thankful for the time we had together. These memorials in FIND A GRAVE are growing by a million a month and make it easier for the world to find & see the memorials of their loved ones. Through these memorials, they live on.
Passionate is an understatement, Genealogy & Cemeteries are a big part of my life. Have 35 years of sometimes obsessive research under my belt. I'm one of the very few volunteers for Madison County, NY which is 662 square miles with 285 Cemeteries and endless hills (up to 1800 ft) & valleys, so go easy on me folks.
Genealogically I picked up where my Grandfather and his father left off. I specialize in Madison County, NY and surrounding areas and Warren County, NY. If you find your relative in my memorials and would like transfers or to add bios, or corrections let me know. All my photos are free for distribution.
Though it feels like "good-bye", we know that in reality, for those of us who have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ it is merely, "see-you-later"
Taphophilia is a interest for and enjoyment of cemeteries. Taphophilia involves epitaphs, gravestone rubbing, photography, art, and history of deaths. The singular term is a taphophile.

|Patricia Snell||RE: Tracy Family at Madison Street Cemetery|
Thank you so much :)
|VW "Vern" Goodrich||RE: Morgan Morehouse|
I deleted them, but I don't have a clue how they got there!
|kdutman||Rebecca Swift Brown|
I recently found out that I am descended from Rebecca Swift Brown & Emerson Brown (buried in Peterboro Cemetery). I was told by a distant relative that Rebecca was born in Barnstable County, Massachusetts and was the daughter of Silas & Deborah Tobey Swift, but I have not seen any documentation for this.
I noticed that in addition to adding Rebecca's findagrave.com memorial page (# 33520908) you also had added her sister, Abigail Swift Mathewson's page (Memorial #23646175). And in Abigail's page you had detailed that Abigail was the sister of Silas & Deborah Tobey Swift. I was wondering how you determined that despite Abigail not even having a headstone.
And was it just an oversight that Rebecca's parents were not included in on her page or do you not have proof of who Rebecca's parents were.
Anything you would be able to tell me would be very much appreciated!

|Cousin Jim ||Athol Gallups and etc|
You had said; "Years ago (early 80's) I corresponded with Zella Selfridge, she sent me Gallup genealogy. My family keeps in touch with Marj & Ernie Gallup family, cousins"
Zella was my mother, who d. Sept 8, 2005, bur. on my lot at Gansevoort Cem. look it up on this web- site.
Someone was nice enough to do a 'drive by shooting' of my own dam cemetery lot before I could put some GOOD pix on it, and the guy WILL NOT answer queries. Makes me a mite furious, but (shrug)...
Ernie died back in 2007 and I don't know about Marge, as I haven't seen them at a family reunion since the early '90's and the Glens Falls paper has a real funky search engine.
I have the history of Thurman, NY and a book of it's cemetery contents if you have any questions..
SO.. that makes you and me cousins, too.

Thanks for letting me know about the duplicate memorials! Good eye, there. I have removed the one without a photo of the gravestones.
|Alison Gulbrandson||RE: Fred Fuller, Union Cem.N.C.|
Hi Andrew, Aunt Myra was a dear sister of my Dad, Jim. Met Mabel several years ago...went to see her at her home, enjoyed meeting her. She was a dear friend of Aunt Myra's. Have been searching for years to sort out these Fullers, Alison
|Rebecca Ott||Eaton Farm Cemetery|
You thankfully created a memorial for a Judson Jerritt Mace at Eaton Farm Cemetery in 2009. From the information you recorded, I think there must be a stone there. Would it be possible for you to take a picture of the stone or do you know of anyone that can take the picture and either post it at findagrave or send it to me (and I'll post it). I did request a photo at findagrave, but the other 2 requests were from 2010 and haven't been fulfilled. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to find out all the people buried in the Shaver Private Cemetery/ Mabie Farm Cemetery. I think my ancestors are buried there. Their surnames are Fink. Can you help in any way.

|Margaret Sopp||Sarah Matteson|
Thank you so much for taking the photos at Welsh Church Union Cemetery in Nelson, NY for the Matteson family. The stones for George, Clarissa and Sophronia are wonderfully preserved. The photo for Sarah not so much. Can you read the dates on Sarah's tombstone? I've fooled around with the contrast, but I just can't pick up on the dates. She is my husband's ancestor.
|Tom Reece||Joseph Wiltsie|
Andrew, if you happen back to Joseph's marker at Morrisville Rural, could you clear his marker off a little so we can see it ? Don't get me wrong I appreciate your work,just would like a better shot.
