Bio Photo Research Requests for Wills: Since Chenango County Surrogate Court has changed their policies I can no longer photograph wills and now have to purchase copies. I can check the indexes for your ancestors for free, but any copies will have to be paid for prior to delivery of the documents.

Photograph use: When posting any of our photos for the public you MUST add a caption that the photo was taken by Jan Myers. Any other use beyond personal use you MUST ask for permission!

Mt. Hope Transcription Progress: Mt. Hope has a total of 14,000 interments. The transcription is 90% complete and I am working very hard to input all the data into a database for upload. The following sections are photographed completely:

Section 1, 14, 15, 22-B, 22-C, 200, Jewish, B (North side @ main entrance)

Sources for Mt. Hope used: The information we are using for the interments thus far have come from the cemetery records, headstones, or from obituaries.

All headstone photos that we taken are in the highest resolution available on our camera. If a photo is available, it will be available for free download at our website listed below.

Any questions about any of our memorials please do not hesitate to email us! We have a lot of information that has not been uploaded yet. Just ask I will search my files to see what I have for you and get back to you promptly.

Bertha Snedaker
Iam a granddaughter of Rena Malarkey who is buried in Vestal Hills Cemetery, why would you show her as being buried at Riverside Kirkwood Cemetery. Yes, she is the daughter of Bertha, however she is not at this cemetery. Please remove this information.

Cathe a Day descendant
Mildred E Day Frink
I am researching Alfred Day's descendants and believe George William Day is one of his sons. His family, i.e. Mildred's parents Mary E and George W and her siblings Raymond, Daisy, Clara Eloise, Georgia, and Florence are buried in Sherburne West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne, Chenango County, NY. According to a Day researcher Mildred was the only one who married and had a family. I didn't see a way to link the family to her other than parent relationships which I did try to enter for her.

Louisa Cherokee Parks

I am researching the above. She is the daughter of George Washington Parks and Louisa Spriggs. I am finding contradictions in memorials on her. I have her born c 1850 but there is a memorial having her born in 1829. As her parents weren't married until 1841, that's not likely. I don't believe she was married to Abraham Columbus Parks or Columbus Parks. Any understanding you can give me on her would be helpful and appreciated. You can email me at Thanks, Judi Schoonover

David yager
I am curious as to how you matched the newspaper clipping to David Yager. There were many David Yagers in the area around Oneonta, especially at that time period. (I have many Yagers in my ancestry). The Memorial is # 46355555.

I am trying to sort all the David Yagers out and would very much appreciate some further information on this David Yager. Thanks! Ruth

What a great accomplishment!
Thank you so much for all your efforts at the Mount Hope cemetery. What a great accomplishment!

Several of my relatives are buried there including my Aunt Mary, who was murdered at age 7, just 6 weeks before my father was born. Members of the town contributed toward her gravestone, so even though her parents were poor and it was during the depression, she has one of the largest gravestones in her row. (Back then, they buried people in order of when they died.)

Thank you again for all your efforts!

Jothan Allds 40593032

Jothan is actually Jotham Powers Allds born in Claremont NH and died in Norwich NY. His father's name was Jotham Gillis Alld who is buried in Claremont NH. Lucy Charlotte Powers Chase was Jotham's third wife.

Jotham P. Allds should be made famous as he was a New York State Senator involved in one of the biggest bribery scandals the state ever saw and can be found in practically every newspaper between January & April 1910 (I even found the trial written up in the Nebraska State Journal).
